Lets assume the Packers go 18-0 and meet the Patriots in the Superbowl (if NE can get past Pitt/Bal it is possible)

Will you root against your hated division rival?

Or root for the Patriots to prevent the Packers surpassing the '72 Dolphins (19-0 surpasses 17-0)?

I couldn't give a shit about the '72 record.

Packers over Patriots every day of the week, twice on Sunday.

And it would be on a Sunday.

And if the Packers could win twice, I wish they would. I'd settle for a single, though.

Of course, what I really hope is that the Patriots get beat into the ground every single Sunday and don't make the playoffs.

I'm not sure why I would care about one more title for NE.  Win or lose, the media will slobber over Bradichick non-stop anyway.

18-0 team vs. non-18-0 team, I'm rooting for the team with a loss.  The only scenario that even makes it interesting is the Jets in the SB against an undefeated team.

I personally don't really care about the '72 record since I wasn't alive for it. I just hate the Patriots the most out of any team (with the Jets a close second) so I'd root for the Pack to go undefeated all day.

Plus, maybe if someone does go undefeated, the Dolphins will break some sort of curse.

I cheer for the Pats.

In fact, I cheer for the Pats sometimes anyway.  I don't hate them like the others.  ...even with a team I do hate, like the Jets, I still cheer for them over an undefeated Packers.

I voted for NE, not because of the record, but because I have won big money twice in Super Bowl pools, both times with the Pats.

Won big money with the packers last year.  This team is almost literally Tecmo Bowl-esque.  If they don't win the title, it'll be a massive disappointment.

I like the fact that we are the only undefeated team but at the same time....I loathe the Patriots and would rather see the Packers go undefeated than the Pats win another SB so we have to hear the media slob on Brady's junk even more than they already do. If anyone is to go undefeated and beat Miami's record I would rather it be a team I can at least cheer for like the Packers with a class act at QB like Rogers.

I actually don't like to do this .... but what he said.  I actually enjoy watching the Packers.

I voted New England for purposes of your question, but honestly I would have a hard time rooting for either team to win the SB only because both of them have won recently.  My hope is that someone like Baltimore who hasn't won in awhile is there against Green Bay. I'd root for them in a heartbeat.

A patsies friend of mine posed the same question to me the other day. I have NEVER cheered for them. NEVER. But I would want them to beat the Pack to preserve the '72 record.
