Looks like this whole "Get high-round castoff RBs from New Orleans" thing seems to work pretty well for Miami.

Is it too late to chime in with "Yes, I think he will get 1,000"?    Grin

Yes, it does. Now if we could just find a team to get castoff, QB's, OL, etc..

1,000 is still nice, but it isn't as much of an accomplishment as it was back when there was a 14 game regular season.   Guess I'm dating myself as an old goat with that comment.  LOL

Considering the NFL is so pass happy anymore, I think it is just as much as an accomplishment.  But I do see your point, it was really heralded back in the OJ Simpson years.

Maybe it's because I grew up during the Marino years, but anytime a Dolphin RB gets a thousand yards, it's a big deal to me.

For shits and giggles I went back to see where the 203 yards put him all-time insofar as single game stats, and came across all of Ricky's stats from 2002. Good God was he ridiculous. Wish I played fantasy football back then:
1853 rushing yards
16 TD's
363 receiving yards
1 TD (2216 total yards and 17 TD's)

Week 12: 228 yards rushing, 2 TD's
Week 13: 216 yards, 2 TD's..... WOW....I had forgotten how much we squeezed out of him that year. -EK

Yes, he was. He will always be my favorite Dolphins HB. Like Marino & the Dolphins defense of the late '90's prolific during a time of imbalance.

pretty classy move by Reggie..I know I was rough on Reggie Bush all year, but I'm slowly hopping on the bandwagon with each passing week.

Side note:  With the exception of Marc Colombo, maybe the O-Line isn't as bad as we thought it was?..hmmm

Jon Jerry has been working at both tackle spots a lot this year in and after practice. He was Sparano's pet project from reports i read. And he has been doing well at tackle from the reports.

If Jon Jerry can play RT (which is a position he is made for with his size)......I think next years starting o-line "MIGHT" already on this roster. Long, Incognitio, Pouncey, Garner, Jerry. I know they like to keep Garner on the bench since he can play 4 of the 5 o-line spots and is good for depth, so at worst you only need to find 1 starter, which isn't bad.  I mean obviously if you can upgrade over Garnder or Incognitio you will, no doubt. I mean the whole thing hinges on Jon Jerry so it isn't set in stone by any means. He could go back to his old ways to pack on 40lbs and be a nothing again. But the o-line, if Jerry continues his upward trend, isn't as bad as once thought.

P.S..its very unlikely Vernon Carey comes back after how he was treated this last offseason. He is a FA and as much as he loves Miami I think he hates Ireland more....lol

Carl Nicks from New Orleans.  His contract is up this year and between their cap issues and the fact Brees needs a new contract, I highly doubt he stays a Saint.  Miami should snag him.  6'5' 340, beast of a GUARD.  Only 26 years old.  I'd be thrilled with this pick up.

sidenote:  cue the topic getting derailed lol
