And you claim I follow you around from thread to thread and poke jabs at you, ha! Give me a break.

But since you brought it up the defense gave up only 239 yards. If the offense didn't turn the ball over and give Philly short fields to work with in the 2nd quarter, the game might have been more competitive. Defense was good again today. Not great but good! If you only give up 239 yards in a game that ain't bad and should win or at least be in it late. Only gave up 51 yards rushing to Philly and held McCoy, one of the elite RB's in the NFL today to 38 rushing yards, had 4 sacks on Vick. Don't know what more the defense could do. When you have an inept offense, they can only do so much for so long.

Shocker, Mike has something to say here. You always have some excuse don't you? "They only gave up 20 points." This week they give up more than that, and you use, "They had to deal with a short field." News flash- a DOMINANT D, doesn't always allow TD's if presented a short field. A truly dominant D (cause there's so many of them on 4-9 teams) holds the opposition to field goals, not easy 7's. They got exposed today for what they have been all year- a bit over rated, and an average D on a bad team. It's funny that you mentioned the 239 yards not once, but twice, as if that somehow HELPS your agument. A defense that allows 24 points on less than 250 yards is so bad, I can't figure out how that even happens. They have no business being in the same sentence with the word dominant. -EK

The defense gives up 239 yards, has 4 sacks, holds McCoy to 38 rushing yards and yep they were terrible in your eyes. I don't agree, the reason they gave up POINTS and not YARDS is because of short fields they had to work with.  Phily had a 2 play drive for 1 yard for a TD. And a 6 play drive for 54 yards for a TD. I don't care if you are the 85' Bears or the 2000 Ravens, when teams have that short of a field to work with, they are gonna score points. This is the NFL. And in the ENTIRE 2nd half of today's game Philly's longest drive was 34 yards. Miami had 3 three-n-outs, and 2 four-n-outs in the 2nd half. Philly did NOTHING in the 2nd half of today's game.

For the last time, I NEVER SAID THEY WERE A DOMINATE DEFENSE! I said there were weeks recently (KC, Oakland..) that they played DOMINATE FOR THAT ONE GAME!!! I have said they have been a very good unit all year, not a dominate one.

But why let that get in the way of one of your childish tirades against me for the 1,999,483,847,488th time!! And a little free advice, this is the point where you should walk away from this conversation. You clearly don't agree with me. I clearly don't agree with you. Just let it go! Nothing you can post from this point on will change my mind. You don't need to always get the last word in.

I didn't follow you or even mention you. I posted that the defense stunk and YOU took that and ran with it. That's a you problem, not a me problem. As for you not saying the D was dominant, you started a thread entitled "Dominant Defense," which was not only a poorly-veiled attempt to argue with me when I had already said they were barely average in a previous post, but also the very definition of saying they are dominant. Once again every single thing you say I do, you're guilty of. How does a person say, "You have to get the last word in all the time," then post, "walk away from this thread; don't respond so I can have the last day so"?

All of that aside, a 4-9 team beating teams with losing records or teams decimated by injury hardly can be said to have a dominant D- even in their wins. Dominating bad teams does not make you dominant. -EK
