Well Mike, I guess you got what you wanted. As long as Ireland is replaced, I'll be happy.

get ready, the next miami dolphins head coach will be....

eric mangini

You might not be far off.  And if Dawn Aponte gets her way he will be hired.

I don't want Mangini, but it is a very real possibility. More so than many Dolphins fans know.

Uh, I don't think I was the only one who wanted it. I think most of South Florida and the vast majority of Dolphins fans around the world wanted this. I'm not alone in wanting Sparano fired....lol. Far from it!

Not saying that you're the only one. At the same time, he's not the only problem.

Quarterback is just as big a problem. Probably bigger actually.

I have to disagree. If you don't block, you don't score. Doesn't matter who your QB is.

Well you can have an all world o-line, if your QB sucks you can't win. Look at Chicago once Cutler went down. Look at Indy without Manning. All the teams who have legit starting QB's (minus Denver but no team in that division has a legit QB) are going to the playoffs.  No QB=No Winning.

The o-line is an issue but as big of an issue as some seem to think. I mean Bush has been a beast the 2nd half of this year, somebody is blocking for him!!

Its obvious that you're all about the QB. That's fine. But no line=no QB. The QB's you mentioned are both injured. The didn't end up that way while driving to work. The right of this line sucks. They don't even run to that side of the field. Most pressures come from that side of the field. Solidify the line, and they could win with Moore. Ignore that, & your "franchise" QB will be like Henne. Great arm, but shellshocked & on IR.

Chicago's offensive line is god awful, and has been for 3 seasons now.

And you're saying Philip Rivers is not a legit QB?

But anyways:  http://bleacherreport.com/articles/981054-keeping-jeff-ireland-precludes-dolphins-from-drafting-qbs-barkley-or-griffin

it honestly wouldn't surprise me for Miami to pass on a QB this year

1983 - 2000:  All Miami had was a QB

2001 - Present Day:  Miami has had everything but a QB.

so again, it wouldn't surprise me for Miami's front office to drop the ball....again

Chicago was walking into the playoffs blindfolded with Cutler under center. And his injury was a fluke this year NOTHING o-line related. Not to mention with that GARBAGE o-line last year they were playing a HOME game in the NFC Championship game last year. Proving once again, QB is all that matters!

Rivers is legit, but he has the biggest idiot coach of all time. That is too much for him to even overcome.

So why didn't Carolina do that last year? They could have kept Moore for 1/10th of the cost they paid for Newton. And they could have used the #1 pick elsewhere.

Oh wait, because Matt Moore sucks, that's why they didn't do it. Same reason why Miami won't do it. Cause Moore sucks! Win 4 games vs 4 garbage teams and people want to sign him up long-term, unreal.

MikeO, you realize that if you weren't so black and white on issues, someone might actually agree with you don't you?  I mean either a guy is a franchise QB or he's pond scum. There's no in between with you.  The reality is that there are many shades of gray in between franchise QB and sucks. Rarely is it one or the other.  Moore had some decent games, but he's obviously not a frachise QB. That doesn't mean he sucks. If you would cut the guy a little slack, (just a bit), people like me could agree with you.

Moore sucks. There are and always have been "good" QB's who aren't franchise QB's. Matt Hasselbeck (in his day), Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer (in his day), David Garrard (in his day) come to mind. But Moore isn't in their class and never will be.  I'm sorry.

It is black-n-white when it comes to Moore. He isn't a starting QB in the NFL. As a back-up, sure. No problem. As a starter who can take a team to the playoffs, no chance in hell. There is no naming Moore your starter and trying to build around him. It can't work! It is impossible to make that work.  Because Matt Moore sucks.

So you have admitted their are "good" QB's. What no "average" QB's? No "below average"?  They go from being "good" to "sucks"?
