2011 NFC East Champions!

« on: December 14, 2011, 01:52:01 pm »

Today I made a rookie mistake - I read replies to some of my earlier, brilliant pieces of artwork (earlier posts). But since I did, and since I went ahead and read some of the heart-felt commentary of a few select TDMMC forum members, I am taking the liberty, at my discretion and as time permits, to really start turning the dial on my Anti-Fins forum posts.

Maybe I'll do a daily "What Grinds My Gears (About the Dolphins)" segment in which I proceed to explain what is currently grinding my proverbial gears. Maybe I won't. Maybe I'll become a Dolphins fan next season.

What can Stephen Ross learn from the last two paragraphs? Honesty - to himself.

He is quickly showing the sports world that he is without a shadow of a doubt the worst controlling partner / principal team owner in the NFL. He is making Don Sterling (L.A. Clippers owner; horrible owner) look good by comparison.

This is what will most likely happen in the next few months:

1. Press Conference to announce that blah blah blah blah blah...
2. Interview coach X, coach Y, and coach Z
3. Not fire the real problem (Ireland)
4. Hire Eric Mangini or Lane Kiffin or Rob Ryan
5. Re-sign Chad Henne (The "Next" Dan Marino), trade Matt Moore, promote J.P. Losman and draft a wide-receiver in the 1st round (pick 4 overall).
6. Open "Club Liv 2" on the opposite side of the stadium from "Club Liv 1". Double the South Beach lifestyle!!!

Ross needs to be honest with himself - he has no business being an NFL owner but has the money to do it. This isn't real estate or Excalibur Fitness (or whatever the name of his high-class gyms).

Get ready for your "Once Proud Franchise" to kill it in 2012!

I actually agree with much of what you said but I think we will go offensive lineman in round one. They are a safer pick and Ireland has done well on Long and Pouncey. Expect him to take another safe pick in the first round to protect his job.

I prefer when you stick to a specific goal in your rants/trolling. This one wandered too much. Some of your items weren't even derogatory but were factual (interview coach x,y,z for example). I've grown to expect much better. Maybe quantity is going to hurt quality.

My advice, don't try too hard. Let it come naturally.

I took it to mean Ross would go through the motions but hire his buddy Mangini ... who is probably already hired but just waiting in the wings anyway.

Good post, actually.  But because Stephen Ross's principle football advisor is a 23 year old college drop out who just does "market research" on fan forums all day...

Ross will not hire any coach not named Fisher, Cowher, Billick, or Gruden.  He will get crucified by the fans for doing anything else.  Unless, he does the old "Ireland is responsible for hiring the next coach" so that Ireland gets crucified instead, and then he can fire Ireland (as all the fan forums are requesting).

Ross has no brain, and just does what he does to sell tickets.  I get it that its a business, but we are buffoons.  We are fans with precisely NO inside knowledge.  Running your team like a democracy with popular fan vote is only going to sell tickets before the season.  As soon as you got 0-4, the fans will want to fire everyone, and the team will become a joke.

...if its not already.

Ross is the real problem.  Never thought it could get worse than Huizenga.

I just noticed this post.  fucking amazing.  he paid 1.5 billion dollars.  $2 billion should be enough to buy the team back.  I'm starting the collection.  Whatever you can donate will help

This is what will most likely happen in the next few months:

1. Press Conference to announce that blah blah blah blah blah...

Way to go out on a limb with predictions.  Are you merely predicting that he holds a press conference or can we hold you to that being a direct quote.  Cause if the former it is a pointless prediction, if the latter I expect you will be wrong.

Quote
2. Interview coach X, coach Y, and coach Z

Another out on a limb prediction.  He doesn’t have a coach.  And you in your infinite ability to see the future you predict he interviews some.  Now once again if you are predicting he interviews exactly three coaches and they are named X, Y, and Z that is a real prediction.

Quote
3. Not fire the real problem (Ireland)

Another brilliantly pointless prediction.  Of course as Ireland would have been fired by the time you made this post if he was going to be fired.  So another non- prediction.

Quote
4. Hire Eric Mangini or Lane Kiffin or Rob Ryan

Your first real substantive prediction.

Quote
5. Re-sign Chad Henne (The "Next" Dan Marino), trade Matt Moore, promote J.P. Losman and draft a wide-receiver in the 1st round (pick 4 overall).

Actually this one has 5 substantive predictions.  1) Henne resigned; 2) Matt Moore traded; 3) JP Losman promoted (this means he is the starter as he currently has the back up job; 4) Dolphins trade up to the #4 pick; 5) Dolphins draft a WR with said pick.
Best case you might get #4 correct.

So in total 6 predictions.  Lets see if you do any better here than your past record.  I am setting the over/under at 1.

Add losing Fisher because of his Ireland love to the list.

That was not one of his 5 predictions.  Although to his credit Fischer was not one of the three he predicted would be the next coach.  And the three he did predict are still avialable.

I was just addressing the Ross is inept part. I really couldn't care less what jtex predicts as i don't even think he does.

Wasn't it obvious from the second sentence.

^^I was being facetious. Could have been either in my book.

And just for the record, yeah I know the guy just lost a son. I'm very sorry about that. But he's moving on with his life which is the right thing to do and I honestly think the rest of us need to let it go too. He doesn't need the constant reminder from fans, the media etc. I don't think I've seen an article that didn't mention it. It's enough already. Stop it.
