no onside kick in that situation with 3 timeouts is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen a head coach (interim) or not do.

It was the safe call.  It wasn't bad to do with 3 TOs and I see the logic, BUT as I said to my buddy when it happened, you don't give Brady the ball back.  You know he and Bellichek aren't going to sit on it.

even if you don't get the onside kick you still have 3 timeouts. Gotta try the onside kick. It was a terrible decision and bad call by Todd

Matt Moore=Career Back-up. If he is starting for Miami week 1 next year, its another wasted season and another year of finishing in 3rd or 4th place and NOT making the playoffs.

This is the key quote.  Moore is a career back-up and nothing else.  I'm glad to see the Phins compete in the 2nd half of the season and still show some fight.  just disappointed that they  held a 17-0 lead and lost 27-24.

You think that Nolan would have had a game plan to counteract the Pats after their abysmal 1st half.  it's only common sense.  you're not going to stop the Pats complete, so you better have 2 game plans to in case you to get up to compete with them on the comeback. I know it looks 20/20 hindsight vision, but in this league you have to account for it.  You really think you were going to shut out the Pats 17-0, 24-0, etc ?  hell no, Pats were going to make a run and you better be prepared for it.

It's pretty brutal when you dominate a first half and you know they will end up choking it off LOL.

Merry Christmas everyone. I got a Dolphins coozie and some Dolphin tupperware.

I agree, when Sparano got fired I thought they would mail in these games and they have showed fight. I DVR'd the game and I couldn't sleep last night so I tortured myself and just re-watched the game. The Moore turnovers you can't come back from. When you fumble and give Brady and the Pats the ball on the 30 yard line, even the 85' Bears will give up points in those situations. You can't expect any defense to hold up and prevent points with that short of a field. Then when Miami is driving for points of their own the back-breaking INT near the goaline gives NE the ball back and doesn't give the defense much time to rest and rushes them back on the field. That turnover isn't about field position its about killing momentum.

From the 3rd quarter till the final drive Miami had in the 4th, Moore was 2 for 6 for 21 yards and INT and 2 fumbles, one lost fumble. He literally gave the game away by himself with that performance.

Nolan got outcoached 6 ways till Sunday, and he has blood on his hands but there is no defending Moore. Just like in the Dallas game where he gave the Cowboys the ball on the 2 yard line and a gift TD. Just like in the Philly game where he gave Phily the ball on the 1 yard line and a gift TD. Just like how in the 4th quarter of the Giants game where all he needed was a couple first downs and to eat up clock, he led the offense to 1 first down and 4 f'n yards the entire quarter as well as an INT. Miami isn't a good enough team to rebound from giving teams a free TD and free points.

Being a "STARTING" QB isn't just about big fancy stats, its also about managing a game and not losing a game for your team. Moore loses games by himself.  It's easy to sit back and say.."well the defense gave up points, blame them" Well look at the circumstances why. When you hand the team the ball on the 1, 2, and 30 yard lines of course they will give up points. When you can't eat up any clock at all and give them no rest in the 2nd half and end drive with turnovers in these games of course they will wear down. I'm not making excuses for the defense, Mike Nolan sucked, Sean Smith sucked, Culver sucked, Will Allen sucked vs the Pats but jesus christ Matt Moore couldn't bring home a game in where Miami was up 17-0 and dominated the Pats in the 1st half in every way possible and he handed them a win.

I have been down on Moore more than most around here, but at halftime of that game Saturday I was having 2nd thoughts of am I wrong. Maybe this guy has made the leap, but that 2nd half performance cemented my stance on him and I know I am right. And if Moore is starting Week 1 for Miami next year this team has 4-6 wins written all over it for next year.
