If the trade is for Miami's 1st than the Broncos raped you.  If the trade is a 3 round you raped the Broncos. He is worth a pick in the 25-50 range.

I like how chiseled in stone that sounds...but you're not dealing in stone, you're dealing with a human being, and the nearly infinite variables that come with him. If Tebow came to Miami for a 3rd round pick and he sets new marks for QB suckitude, then that 3rd round pick may be considered as raping us as well. If we give up a first rounder and he plays like Joe Montana, then we raped them, despite the first round price. I see the former as being much more likely than the latter...

Frankly, what I'd like to see is:

* Miami keeping Moore under center for this season
* Do everything possible to build draft trade assets for the 2013 draft. Trade Miami's early second rounder this season to some team willing to give up their first rounder for next season. That sort of trading.
* Suck badly enough this season (Miami appears to be on course for this already) that, with the extra draft assets from the second point above, Miami can maneuver into position to make a legitimate play for Matt Barkley in the 2013 draft.

(edited for a 3rd grade caliber typo)

^^^ that can be said of any trade.  Based on what we have seen from him in Denver he ain't worth a high 1st round pick, but at the same time he is worth more than a 3rd.

You may have to talk me off of the ledge if Tebow is brought to Miami. That was my first thought when reports came out that Denver would be trading him.....he is coming to Miami because Ross knows it will sell some tickets. At this point with as bad as they have screwed up this off-season they need to stick with Moore. I do not want Tebow, Smith, Young, or any other teams failed qb.

If they trade for Tebow who doesn't fit Philbin's system or the west coast offense Miami is installing then this franchise isn't about winning.

The fans will show up a few times to see him, but that novelty will wear off fast when the Dolphins are in LAST PLACE in the AFC East, scoring 9 points a game, and unable to complete a forward pass on a consistent basis. Even the die-hard Tebow fans won't show up for that after a handful of times.

It's funny watching the NFL Network all day and the way everyone is looking at the Dolphins... just like most have said here the Dolphins front office is looked upon as clueless!   The same theme keeps coming up that no one knows where the Dolphins are going... they look like a team in disarray!

The going rate for Tebow according to many on the NFL Network is a 5th or 6th round draft pick.

I was very against "suck for luck" but I think that trading away every pick in this year's draft for picks next year would not be a terrible idea.  You could "give away" this season, being that you're in a bad place, maybe use the #8 pick, and trade off all the rest for future upgrades.  Package a 3 and a 5 for a 2 next year, or a 2 this year for a 1 next year.  I like it!  I'd rather see us stockpile picks for next year's draft than try to make gold out of the turds we have now.

Of course I'm sure current players and potential free agents wouldn't be too fond of this plan, but it would make for an exciting 2013 draft.

I really didn't want Tebow to Miami to happen and was just sharing thoughts when I made this thread. There is still a chance this doesn't happen, but I think Smith back to the Niners is pretty likely. That would leave only a trade for Tebow to be a "big QB splash".

What if we agreed to forfeit our next 5 games against Indy in addition to our entire draft this year? Could we get Luck then?
