Like Peter King said ... Jeff Ireland. In the history of NFL general managers, Ireland is on the coldest streak ever. He needs to do something right.

No doubt he and Ross has to be feeling the effects of not accomplishing anything nor appearing to not have an actual plan.

What I meant by seriously is that an online petition has never solved anything. It's just a waste of time. I want them gone too but an online petition isn't the way.

^^Completely agree. Whiffing on three- maybe four, now- QBs this offseason isn't entirely his doing (I believe Ross had a hand in some of that), but even if it was, that hasn't been enough for Ross to fire him, so somehow an online petition will change ownership's mind?? -EK

First of all it would be a "whiff" on two.  And considering the way the Payton Manning thing has gone there will be a lot of teams that will fall into your "whiff" category.

Second, I wasn't sold on Flynn.  I was more nervous about him than excited about him.  If Philbin thought he was all that good, I am pretty sure we would have offered him whatever he wanted.  All this tells me is that Philbin doesn't think he has shown him anything to demonstrate he deserves top tier money.

Lastly, they didn't whiff on Moore last year.  We were all scratching our heads on that signing (including me) and he did a very good job considering no training camp and coming in off the bench.

The biggest whiff is on the Brandon Marshall situation.  But there is still a chance to remedy that a bit in the draft.  Of course it is going to take a couple of years for a receiver to develop, but still too soon to call it a whiff.

Why is this fallacy still being oushed around. MikeO showed with articles how the buck stops with Ireland for all player decisions. So you and others keep mentioning Philbin as not being high on Flynn, just because Miami did not sign him. It seems the only person(s) not really interested is Ireland and maybe Ross.
