Jones to SS (which is his natural position)

Richard Marshall to FS

And Fins save $4.35 mill in cap space. Needed to do this move

I hope this is the case.  I don't care if it is overpay.  Smith is the best on suited to run this offense out of all available options including the draft.

I just can't see how Smith doesn't go back to San Fran though.

Oh is that the plan?  Totally justified then.  Best secondary in the league

Actually it is justified.  It is actually a pretty good plan regardless of the cap space issue.  Bell has been losing a step the last few years.  He is a liability against tight ends.

Keep in mind, I really like Bell.  But when you play the Pats twice a year, you have to be able to play two receiving tight ends out of your base formation.  Putting Smith on a tight end isn't optimal and that is what we have had to do.

They can always bring Bell back at a much lower price too.

If he wants to come back.  The Dolphins probably did him a huge favor by cutting him now.

He ain't coming back now. With Moore/Garrard this a bottom feeder NFL team next year. Bell will go to a team where he can possibly win in his final yer or two in this league

The dolphins did do him a favor but he was one of my favorite players. Now who is going to make a tackle on defense?
