As much as I enjoy The Walking Dead, the series I have been waiting for even more has been the second season of Game of Thrones. Thankfully, the wait is almost over, as season two premieres this Sunday night at 9 PM ET.

I intentionally avoided buying the books to get a head start, and avoided chat rooms where spoilers might get dropped, just because I want this new season to be fresh. I did, however, watch the official HBO season 2 preview, which was awesome...and did nothing but stoke the flames of my fanhood. If you haven't seen the preview, you can watch it here (22 minutes):

Winter is coming, war is here, dragons have returned to the land and a multitude of awesome new characters are on the horizon. Sunday night cannot get here soon enough.

I am in to this show, as well.  I was concerned at about the 3rd episode.  It was so much political stuff and talking about people who were long dead or that you haven't seen -- a ton of exposition about seemingly unimportant stuff.  But, if you stuck with it, it really paid off.  By the season's end, my wife and I were glued to it every week.

We're looking forward to it, very much.

I've read all the books.  Season 2 will be really good, but season 3 will be beyond epic.  That is all I'll say about it.

Yes please, no spoilers. I want to say I cannot wait but unfortunately, I do have plans that will have me away from the TV at 9 on Sunay so I will have to wait a little longer than most of you.

Hell yes... After one episode, I can already see that this season is going to be out-fucking-standing.

I was able to catch it before I went to bed. I don't see season 2 letting me down either.

Favorite parts of last night's episode...

Little Finger getting cornered by Cersei and her guards... I thought for sure that he was going to get his throat cut there.

The "extermination of Robert's bastards"...and wonder if that was Joffrey or Cersei's doing. I also wonder what is going to happen once the guards catch up to the armorer's apprentice bastard (and Arya Stark) on the King's Road next episode.
