I don't understand, with all of the crap that the NFL peddles, why they don't embrace alternate jerseys more than they do.  ....take the Dolphins blue jersey.  People bought in, pretty much.  But if they played one game in it, everyone would have one.

It's one of those things that helps sell merchandise, gets your team a little bit more nationally noticed, and is fun for your fans.

Here's what I think we should do each year:

Home jersey - Standard White
Away jersey - Standard Aqua

Like usual, you'd wear these for most games.

Then, for 1 game each:

Alternate jersey - either the Orange or the Dark Blue...switch off each year, maybe?
Throwback - Old jerseys from the 70s or 80s, do this for one of those history weeks, where they bring in all the old players for a celebration.
Weird jersey - Go crazy, with something like those really weird Nike Pro Combat jerseys or something like those trippy Maryland NCAA jerseys from last year.

I know that some people are against this kind of stuff and want simple stuff.  I happen to really like the Orange Outs and alternate jersey weeks.  I think it's fun.

LOVE the throwback games, but the entire NFL has to do it for that one week. I remember watching some games where 1 team had a throwback and the other didn't. WTF? I'm whatever on alternates, they don't do anything for me personally, and 99% of 'em don't really look good. And I'm on the hell no bandwagon for weird, those Maryland unis were an atrocity. I apply Dave's thought of logos to uniforms, nice and simple, don't like too much goin on.

I really don't like the orange jerseys, just my opinion.  I'd be okay with the dark blue once a year, just not in the heat of September.  I like the throwbacks in general, but some teams have some god awful looking throwbacks.  Hell no to camo jerseys, etc.

I think throwbacks should be worn by every team for Week 12 (Thanksgiving) and Week 16 (Christmas)..we all have traditions for holidays, why not bring out the classics during the games too?

I love the Patriots throw backs - but then again, I prefer Pat Patriot to the flying Elvis

I HATE the Patriots throwbacks.  I don't think the Patriots should ever wear anything older than 2001.  For teams who had success in the past and ain't doing so hot as of recent (Dolphins, Cowboys etc) then a throwback to the glory years make sense.  For teams in which the glory years are now such as the Patriots and Colts, throwbacks are pointless.  I don't wain nyslogic for the days of when Plunkett was our QB, the way Dolphin fans do for Marino.

The Cowboys throw back to their 1960 unis once a year...a uni they never won a game in that year.

I fervently support bringing back Pat Patriot and the red jerseys.  Since the 90s, the Pats uniforms have been just plain bad (they've improved a little over time, but that's not saying much).  It's a shame they've had so much success in them.  Of course, then again, it's a shame the Pats have had so much success period. Tongue

I feel the same way about the Broncos.  The cyber-horse on the helmet is awful.  I always felt sorry for the Bronco fans that they won their only 2 championships looking that way.

Why wouldn't any AFL team want to celebrate their history by wearing their original uniforms?

Yeah, no.

Some uniforms DO need a change. Denver and New England are two that look so much better now than they did before. It's when they permanently change to fugly throwbacks that annoy the hell outta me.

I will never defend the brown and yellow unis.  The unis after them, however, are the best unis Denver has ever had.  Acid horse FTW!

You mean #2 and #3? LOL

I liked #5 the best for a long time, but their current unis grew on me.

As for the Phins, I like the throwbacks, and I like the current scheme. I also like the orange although I hated them until after the second time we wore them when we went 4-12 and spanked the Patsies in them, late in the season. I now own one. lol

But throw in a navy jersey with white pants? That would be SWEET!

^^ The current Broncos jerseys grew on me too.  At first I couldn't get over the fact that it looks like a massive orange pit stain going all the way down to their knees lol
