After revealing (wrongfully) that Jeremy Shockey was the whistle blower in the Saints bounty scandal, it's safe to say he's getting what he deserves.
It's possible he could be trying to protect himself from a lawsuit from Shockey if one comes down the pike. I've read the article, and unfortunately, the bankruptcy won't discharge his alimony, child support, or back taxes.
He owns 240 pairs of shoes. WOW!!!!!!

240 pairs of shoes at $200 each (if they are all Jordans, or equivalent) is less than $50k. Holding him to the fire for the amount of sneakers he owns would be the equivalent of one of us declaring bankruptcy and someone saying, "You bought over 2 gigabytes of music from iTunes and you're supposedly bankrupt?!" The cause of a former millionaire's bankruptcy is not the number of sneakers he has; it's the number of cars he has, the number of houses he has, the number of children he has, and all the parties at Da Club with 5- to 6-digit tabs at the end of the night.
If a one-time difference of $50k was going to make a difference in his bankruptcy, his NFLN job (paying $45k/month) would have been fine.
