Thinking how much of an asshole I am, I should start a topic for the people who's heart belong with another team, but grace us with their presence on the board...
Hoodie, and Sportschick being Patriots fans,Stroke Being a 49er fan, Jtex being a Giants fan,Denverbronco the Broncos fan...

The draft is Thursday....

1.) Predict the pick,Who do you think they'll pick.

2.)Who do you want them to pick?

3.) Who would you not be happy if we pick them?

I predict that with one of the two NE first round draft picks the Patriots aquire.....

Wait for it....

It is shocking and unpresidented......

A 2013 first round pick and a 2012 second round pick!

IMO, the Hooded Devil got two reeeeally good defensive players from those trade-ups...especially Chandler Jones. I was really impressed with the Patriots picks on day one.

^^^ I am quite happy.

As surprised as I was to see him draft up and not down, it does make sense in that it has long been reported that BB isn't into "collecting future draft picks" but hates to pay megabucks to players who have not yet proven they can play in the NFL, rather spending those dollars on proven vets.

^^^ I like the Chandler Jones pick, I was hoping he would still be around in round 2 for the Fins.  He missed some games with Syracuse this past year because of a leg injury, but is fully recovered from what I heard.  His brother Art plays for Baltimore, and his other brother Jon is a UFC Champ, so he has alot of work to try and compete with them.

Could be a small rookie camp in Foxboro this year.  NE has only two more picks left.  Both in the second round.

With those two picks I would like a DB and WR.

The world is coming to an end. The Patriots traded up, not once, but twice

(I think much of that has to do with the rookie scale)

Or maybe their 35-year-old (when the season starts) superstar quarterback?

^^^ I doubt it.  Neither of these players were the best player on the board for 2012 production, particularly Hightower is a more looking toward 2013, than 2012.

I believe the change in the rookie scale had a lot to do both with NE and a number of other teams trading up.

The Niners take LaMichael James of Oregon.  Is Frank Gore on his way out, or is James gonna be a Darren Sproles type back?

This is no longer a league where you can put a workhorse in the backfield, run him into the ground, and expect to win.

LaMichael James is a stud, and would be perfect to be a change of pace guy and help split the workload with Gore.

James gives the 49ers a trio of RBs who all have completely different sizes/styles. Gore as the lead back, Brandon Jacobs as the goalline pounder and LaMichael James as the Sproles-type scatback. The 49ers really have added some talent to their offensive cast this offseason...hopefully some of it pays off in September.

If Jacobs thought he was pissed splitting time with Bradshaw, he's gonna be super pissed come September.
