I am worried about the Bills.  They are really getting it together.  I know that it hasn't been proven on the field yet but the moves they are making are bold and make a lot of sense.

The only thing I think might bite them is paying so much money to Williams.  But considering it is a pass happy league and they have to get around some pretty good left tackles in their division, I can understand it.

Any thoughts?

If Fitzpatrick plays well that team is 8-9 wins. Get a break or two and they could win 10

Fitz seems to be a flash in the pan. He has gotten worse since cashing that big check. As long as Chan Galey is the HC, I am not too worried.

I'm worried about that defense, it will keep them in just about every game.  Then all they need is a break or two.

Their front 7 on defense can be very good and Gilmore will be a good rookie CB. He can play.

I think the AFC East today is

NE
Buff
Miami/Jets fighting it out for 3rd and 4th

That's how I judge the teams today in late April with no injuries and such. I have no clue what the Jets are doing. A team that claims they are a ground and pound team that wants to run the Wildcat and they don't have a RB on its roster that is decent really is mind boggling.

I think the Bills are showing improvement, but I am not at the point of worrying about them yet.  Then again I am not worried about the Dolphins either.  Jets worry me some.  But my biggest worries are Denver, Pitt and Baltimore.

Houston should be your #1 worry. IF healthy they are the best team in the AFC! Problem is they are never healthy

^^This. Houston is legit. 2 strong running backs, all-world reciever, QB who -if he stays healthy- is as good as anyone, and a scary good defense. I've bagged on Miami's late draft picks here, but honestly, what they've done in the offseason as a whole impresses me more than what the Jets did. I can totally see the AFCE finishing:

NEP: 12-4
Miami: 9-7
Buffalo: 8-8
Jets: 7-9

Scheduling has a lot to do with it as well. The Jets have a brutal schedule out of the gates, while Miami's is such that they can build some momentum. Who would you rather start the year against, Buff-@ Pitt-@Mia, SF-Houst-Indy OR @Houst- Oak-Jets-@Cards-@Cincy-St.Louis? Could easily see the Jets starting 2-4 and Miami 4-2. -EK

Disagree with you on this one.  I understand your reasoning so I won't argue hard with you on it, but the way I see it the Titans should be favored to win that division and I wouldn't be shocked to see Houston miss the playoffs altogether.

They lost an aweful lot of talent this year and were fortunate to win as much as they did last year.  Their schedule will be much harder this year.  I just don't see it.  I am sure you will argue that they lost talent last year with injuries, but their O-line is the difference I am looking at.  And just like all teams, they will have injuries again to at least some degree.

I dunno about #1 worry.  But they should have been on the list.  Oversight on my behalf.

I don't love the Titans. Hasselbeck is old. Locker will have growing pains. Kenny Britt is ALWAYS in trouble. Which Chris Johnson shows up?

Too many question marks to make them the favorites in the AFC South when Houston is still there and loaded.

I don't want to suggest they are a lock, but can you see why I am saying what I am saying?  And why do you think Houston is loaded?

On offense, their running backs are good, but they have O-line turnover.  Their O-line already proved they have the ability to allow their QBs to get crushed.  Johnson is a fantastic receiver, but is one guy enough?  I love their offensive system and it allows them to compensate for a lot of inadequacies, but I don't see anything loaded on offense.

On defense, they lost their two best pass rushers.  They got some solid play out of the 3rd and 4th best linebackers last year, but the pressure is really going to be on them this year.  They have corners that are very boom or bust.  Decent D-line and decent safeties round out the group.  Once again, loaded?

I don't recall them winning big last year, but I do recall them winning.  With the lost players and tougher schedule I just can't bring myself to believe they will be able to keep up some of those lucky wins they had last year.

I think a HEALTHY Houston is the best team in the NFL. Better than the Pats and on par with GB.

Even without Mario Williams they have a better defense than both. Offense is on par (when healthy of course)

They won with a 3rd string QB last year late in the season, when healthy they are tough for any team in this league and they are the class of that division and I don't think its close honestly.

I don't see it with the Titans, gotta be honest with ya

I suppose what I am trying to say is that I see Houston as a fluke.  I don't see the talent across the board they would need.  The system, while nice, isn't anything so special that it will carry the team.

We know how both of us feel about Houston, so now we will just have to see it play out.

I'm not sure why anyone would rank HOU over BAL, given that BAL beat them once in the regular season and again in the playoffs.  BAL also did not lose their best defender.
