So.....someone explain this to me. I've read a couple of times that Bush needs to really "prove himself" this year in order to not get traded or be able to get an extension or something along those lines. What am I missing here? Aside from the fact that he's a PERFECT fit for a WCO, isn't "proving himself" exactly what he did last year? Career year in carries, yards, TDs and averaged 5 yards per carry behind a horrible O-line (17th in the league for run blocking) that was a merry-go-round-of players all year. What else does he have to do this year? I'm legit asking this. He just seems like too good of a fit for the current system to let walk. -EK

He had a career year in a career that was marred by injuries and underperforming.  I'm guessing this new coaching staff wants to see more consistency from him

Who are you hearing this from I think is the question. If Bush has another year similar to last year (which he should), he'll get an extension. If anyone needs to worry about a roster spot, I think it's Thomas who has shown me very little.

Well thats your problem right there.  IMO I see Bush going to the Jets, he seemed to get along well with Sparano, and was a Sparano supporter.  I think the opposite, the Fins have to prove something to Bush to get him to stay.

Easy on the Daniel Thomas is a bust pick. ALL of last years rookies started behind the 8 ball with no OTA's, no rookie camps, no work with the NFL trainers in the offseason. While yes some rookies had success regardless, a lot, I would even say the vast majority of rookies, had issues of some sort last year because of how the offseason played out. They got hurt the most in that lockout. Obviously Daniel Thomas was one of those rookies who was hurt by the lockout.

Now, Thomas had a couple good games before the nagging injuries came back. Thomas had big days in Weeks 2 and 3 vs Houston and Cleveland (both Top 10 defenses last year.) Over 100 yards rushing vs Houston (#2 rated defense) and had over 100 all purpose yards vs Cleveland (#10 rated defense).

The combination of Thomas getting a full offseason to prepare, to go with all of last season, and an improved o-line with Colombo gone I think he will have a much bigger year this season. Not ready to throw the "BUST" label on him just yet.

I keep hearing Daniel Thomas is a bust in waiting but I just don't see it. When he played, he always seemed like the guy you want running the ball in the future. Unfortunatley he got injured a couple of times, if I remember correctly, but I think he's the guy we need.

I agree about Thomas. He hits the hole hard and has great hands. I think if he's healthy he's going to turn some heads this year. I think that may be the biggest reason I was shocked that Miami loaded up on RB's so much in the offseason. -EK

I haven't seen anything in Thomas yet that I don't see in most other RBs... I still expect him to slide headfirst into bustaliciousness this season.

For me personally,I was in the camp, I didn't want  Reggie Bush on the Miami Dolphins. I've not done a 180,I thought he played well last year,and did a lot of good things for us..but...1 healthy season 15 games played,15 started,does not shake the injury prone tag in my book..Just like I said about Chad Pennington,I have ZERO faith he can stay healthy two years in a row,till he proves it....

I think it's completely udderly stupid to pay someone a big contract coming off a career year...

My biggest problem with Thomas,for his size 6' 230#'s (looked it up to confirm),He runs with little to no power... I almost think Ronnie Brown,and a 30+ Ricky ran with more power than he does. (it pains me to say that)

^^^ Really? I always though Daniel ran through tackles and everything last year. I may have some bad memory problems, but I always thought when he played, he always got about 5 to 10 yard gains on most runs.

I never saw him NOT run with power. He started the season with 200+ yards after two games, avg close to 5 ypc, and was mowing people over. Then he got hurt. He seemed to never really get past the hamstring, and with the way Bush was taking off, he didn't need to. I think he's the real deal. If you look at his KState highlights, he's def a power guy, not afraid of contact at all. -EK

Human nature.  Happens in all sports, doesn't matter how high you go.  Quick hockey story.  Most of you know I'm a massive Boston Bruins fan.  Tim Thomas was a goalie God last year.  In the finals he limited Vancouver to an unheard of eight goals in 7 games (a squad that easily puts up 5-6 a night).  He was coming off an pretty damn good season the year before.  All off season all I heard on sports talk?  "Timmy had a great year.  We won the cup, yeah, but...maybe it's time to see what Rask can do.  That was last year."

Fickle bunch, us sports fans.

Tannehill goes out and throws for 4,000 and 30 this season I promise you this: You will hear a ton of "yeah, but" in the offseason.  Consider the source (IE - fans).  Reggie showed me a lot last year.
