This is AWESOME!

To everyone who is worried about it, calm down.  Media personalities like to overstate how much things are distractions.  This isn't a distraction, it is a documetary.  We have a good team for this kind of thing right now.  We have a high percent of good character guys and I think they will represent our team well.

In an ordinary year, I would agree. In a year where we have a brand new coaching staff and a QB controversy brewing, I'm not so sure. This is just gonna pour fuel on the fires that are already smoldering and put Miami in the spotlight even more. If everything goes well it WILL be great for Miami, but if there should be issues, and really when AREN'T there issues, then Miami will become even more the butt of jokes.

I don't like it, but it's just my opinion, I could be wrong...and I probably will be watching for the first time ever so on that note I'll probably get a little more coverage on Miami than I would normally get, so it's not all bad.

This is sort of the way I see it...

The Chiefs and Bangels did hard knocks and I watched most of them and ended up liking both of them more.  The Cowboys were on it and they were who I thought they were.  The Jets were on and I didn't get to watch much but it sounds like they were a bit rediculous.

I figure Miami won't be nearly as dramatic as the Cowboys or the Jets, but a bit better than the Chiefs and Bangels.  I think we will all watch it and appreciate the team even more.  These guys work their assess off and all we usually see in terms of video is warm ups.

My experience with the series is that they primarilly develop drama through the battles of making the team and only sway from that with divas.  If we had a bunch of divas on our team I would worry about it but we don't.

This is a quality production and Hard Knocks knows how to stay out of the way and avoid burning themselves for future opportunities.  Misrepresenting the team doesn't help their cause in the future.  It will be fine!

Joe Philbin seems to like it.

I wonder how many people against it have never seen the program. The Bengals (can you think of a team with more arrests and issues in recent history) didn't even come off looking bad.

You can mark me down for that, but I'm not worried really about the team looking bad, I'm worried that it will be a distraction to a team that doesn't need to be distracted. It's quite possible I'm overthinking it. I should probably give more credit to the coaches and players that they won't see this as a distraction.

I would think these guys are pretty use to having cameras around. I don't think it is much more of a distraction than being "Miked up" during a game.

If you get a chance, I believe they are currently showing some re-airs of older hard knocks episodes on NFL Network.  I don't think it would take more than a couple of episodes to get a good feel for what it is all about.

I actually think the presence of Hard Knocks keeps the players more engaged in their training.  Typically people want to be at their best when the camara is rolling.

It looks like I'll be getting HBO August 1st...I'm not sure I "like" the idea, but curious to watch it as a Dolphin fan in the Midwest,(not very likely to go see them during training camp)

This just gives me one more reason to keep my HBO subscription (Game of Thrones being the other reason).
