Cool wall 10 ruling...It was a tie between Seriously uncool, and Cool....4 a piece, but the deciding votes were 1 for Super cool, and 1 for pretty cool, pushing the final tally to cool...

I think this next one, fits sort of the same type of vein,it's a love or hate...

TDMMC What says you...Are Tattoos cool?...I actually had this in mind before the Murtha thread in the Dolphins section,it's just good timing.

Please PM me with any Ideas you might like to see in Future Cool Wall threads...Voting will stay open for 10 days, you may change your vote at anytime....

I'm going to do something I rarely do,state my feelings right after I post the topic....

I think it's lost a lot of it's cool factor,it seems as I know more people in my age group that have at least one, than don't...Even a few people, I'd never guessed to get one, have them...I like the look, and the artistic talent of some tattoos, but think the doing it to be different, express yourself reasons don't hold water with me anymore..

Also exactly like auto customizing, there is a real thin line between cool, and gaudy,bad,overdone...Each case is it's own cool factor...but as a whole,I'm of the feeling,it's uncool...I think what's cool changes as we get older, and I can't think, what *I* feel is really cool tattoo worthy now will be the same in 10 years...

I love ink. If I didn't have to hold a pesky job I'd be covered in them. I like body mods in general. I used to be heavily pierced as well. Then I realized I needed to make money. I now get ink, but it's always somewhere that can be easily covered. (I also promised my mom. She cried when I got my first tattoo.)

Hot, bearded guys covered in tats will always get my attention.

Despite the fact that I have never been inked (been drunk and in tat parlor chair 3 times, but aborted before skin got marked), I still think tattoos are "pretty cool." I'll get inked one of these days.

I can grow a full beard in two weeks...now all I need is the ink! Grin

I don't like tattoos.  I don't really associate them with cool or not.  But the more tattoos you have, I'm likely to think you're less cool, not more.

I am against tattoos. I think most guys look douchy because they get cheesy tattos.

Does it make me a hypocrite for thinking a tasteful, thoughtfully placed tattoo on a girl is super sexy?

I'm usually against tattoo's but my daughter has several and my wife recently got one on her lower leg that's pretty cool. She calls me bear and she often has a picture of a teddy bear of some sort as her facebook pic, so she got one on her leg (also the reason I have the Dolphins teddy bear avatar). I also have a running bet with my wife that if the Dolphins win the SB, I'll get a tat of a Dolphin on my butt.

I think if they have some kind of meaning to the person and are tastefully done, they can be kinda cool, but I still voted uncool in general as typically they are gaudy and way over the top.

I think some tattoos are cool, if done right.  Same like with the cars thread - anything becomes uncool if overdone.

Guy covered head to toe in ink - uncool
Guy with butterfly tat (or anything, really) on lower back - uncool
Tattoos on the face, anywhere - uncool
Tribal band, barbed wire, around biceps - cool 10 years ago, uncool now
something small and meaningful, tastefully done - could be cool

My former roommate had the Italian flag tattooed on his shoulder.  I drew it up for him and he got it.  He was Italian and did it as a tribute to his grandfather.  I thought that was pretty cool.

Murtha's tattoo I think is a neat idea, but I wouldn't do it myself.

I think part of the problem I have with them, is the reason for getting them.

I do think those old men that are in their 60's + that have that one tattoo, they got during the war, all the guy's in their squad got them...Those are cool.I just feel most of them today don't hold that type of meaning.

On the Murtha Tat,think about that in about 15 years, when he's not lifting as much or consistantly...his arm gets a little flabby....

Another lesser problem IMO...Have you guy's seen the ones that are a little older, and illegible because of father time...Ok, I'm done sorry,I'm grossing myself out

Strangely, I find that one big tattoo (or connected piece) is better than mulitple small ones.  I find it attractive when a girl has an entire sleeve, over a couple of random, unrelated small things on them.

I know a guy who is tattooed from his neck to his ankles.  Only hands and groin are uncovered.  It's all one piece, of a rain forest theme with all kinds of animals and flowers.  It's pretty cool, but he's not trying to look "hard", so I'm more drawn to it than if it were traditional skulls, names, etc.

I have seen so many total losers with tatoos that tatoos have become uncool.  It is barely a notch above mullets from my perspective.  It almost doesn't seem right that it is the context that influences my perspective so much.  If I had never seen a tatoo before, I think I might actually be able to see it as cool.

It is almost a branding method for the rift-raft these days.

Like Brian said, as long as it isn't overdone, some are cool. But there waaay too many cheesy-ass tatoos out there. The ones that make me laugh hardest are the retards who tatoo our area code (305) on themselves. I wonder if dumbassess in other states do this...
