I'm pretty sure most die-hards already heard this was coming but it's now official I guess. A seemingly silly idea comes to an end.

Ochocinco reverts to given surname Johnson
Dolphins wide receiver changed his last name to Ochocinco in 2008

Chad Johnson is back.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has officially changed his name back to his given surname of Johnson.

Johnson, 34, was married on July 4, began the process of changing his name in court and was at the Broward County (Fla.) courthouse, which calls for a legal filing fee of $401.

Johnson, a second-round pick from Oregon State who was a Pro Bowl wideout with the Bengals, changed his last name to Ochocinco on Aug. 8, 2008.

I suspect many (including myself) will continue to refer to him as Ochocinco.  Much like Pacman hasn't shed that name.

For the last few years I've referred to him simply as "Ocho"  probably might take a little time to get back to calling him Chad Johnson.  Maybe it'll stay as a nickname..who knows..just chiming in lol

Sounded like he wants to keep the Ochocinco name, but his wife didn't want to be an Ochocinco.

He's whipped!
