^^^ Newsroom is a solid show and I'm already looking forward to season 2. It hard to shade the feeling of deja vu when watching it, though... it's pretty much Studio 60 set in a news room. In fact, it's actually Sorkin's THIRD tv show about a tv show (Sports Night) and I've liked them all. Sorkin took a pretty big hit with the failure of Studio 60 and I've seen him quoted as saying he's learned some hard lessons from that. Apparently, those lessons were: Do the same show in a different setting with a smaller budget, more politics, and more over-the-top characters. The latter is the biggest let-down for me... I really wish he'd try subtlety once in a while.
