A friend of mine mentioned the other day:

If we played our cards right, we could've kept Brandon Marshall, gotten Chad Johnson, picked up Randy Moss, and grabbed T.O.

That's a WR group of:

- Marshall
- Ochocinco
- Moss
- TO

...for what I think would be relatively cheap.

Why doesn't think kind of thing happen?  Would it be an unmitigated disaster?

I don't know if there would be room in the training facility for all those egos to be in there at once.

I have no idea if Moss can still play, but from what I've seen of T.O., it's time for him to hang it up.

A team with that many nut-jobs is doomed to fail. Not to mention TO is about to be cut in Seattle because he is complaining alot and can't keep up on the field with how things are moving. He is done. Plus TO made everyone in Dallas's life hell (when Ireland was there) so there was no chance in hell he was coming to Miami.

Marshall made Henne's life hell by yelling at him on the sidelines and such, they didn't want to put Tannehill or any young QB through that again. Plus the man is a lunatic. Plus Marshall's contract was anything but "cheap"

They gave Ocho a chance, Ocho screwed Ocho! Miami couldn't do much more, they tried with him.

I think Moss is chasing a ring he wasn't coming to Miami. He had chances to return last year to bad teams and he turned them all down.

As opposed to what- the successful group Miami is fielding currently? TO isn't going anywhere, Marshall is going to make yet another Pro Bowl this year, and Miami's season will be a failure anyway. At least Tannehill would have someone besides Bess to throw to with that group. -EK

I don't think so on TO

If Marshall was such a hot prospect how come Miami could only field a couple 3rd rounders for him. For such a "great" WR teams should have been knocking down Ireland's door lined up around the corner.

Something to keep in mind going forward. Next offseason Dwayne Bowe is a Free Agent as KC won't franchise him twice and pay him 120%. Bowe is from Miami, won a state national title for a high school from Miami. Has said for over a year as this franchise tag thing was taking place he would love to come home to Miami and play there and has the Fins atop his short list of places to go.

He really hasn't been a DIVA or been in too much trouble. There was that one interview years ago where he gave the insight on NFL players get laid on the road and sneak girls into hotels and stuff but that's mickey mouse stuff compared to what we seen with others.

It will be interesting to see what Miami does when a player of this caliber at a need position for the team throws himself at them.

IMO,From a pure football perspective (not about the egos,Divas, headcases, etc)One simple reason, they all play the same the same Y receiver. While they're all big receivers, and did things differently, they essentially play the same role.None of them would really go over the middle,or play the slot. It's fine in theory like playing John Madden, but not in reality terms...

Adam Beasly of the Miami Herald is reporting that the Fins are "swinging for the fences" trying to trade for a WR and not settling for a lesser talent.

Which means it has to be either Mike Wallace, Dwyane Bowe, or Percy Harvin in my opinion. As those seem to be the 3 guys on the trade block from reports around the league.

I have read multiple times that basically hell will freeze over before Pittsbugh lets Wallace go. Noteworthy is that I've heard rumors of Bowe to Miami for weeks now. -EK

It would be awesome to see Percy Harvin in a Phins uniform...

I don't see why Minny would trade him honestly but his name has been out there. It is Rick Spielman though so who the hell knows. Wallace is reporting to Pitt  tomorrow. One, because the real paychecks start coming in next week and he ain't missing any of them. The other "theory" being floated is because before you can be traded you have to report and sign the tender. Bowe reported last week I believe but once again, with Romeo and Pioli's jobs on the line I don't see why they would part with him now. Well I do, because get something good now before he walks and you get nothing for him. Catch 22 though because if KC sucks this year there will be a house cleaning and you are out of work. So they have to win now and keeping  Bowe helps their job security short-term. So, tough call in KC.

Still think Miami makes a play for 1 or 2 GB WR's and that is probably it. Maybe part with a 3rd rounder at most. Which is probably the right play because the Fins can sign Bowe or Wallace at seasons end and hold onto all of their draft picks.  And in 2013 if they have (lets just say) Bowe (as a free agent), James Jones, Hartline, Bess....that ain't bad. And are able to hold onto their 1st and TWO 2nd round picks to then go after CB, LB,...etc. Got a nice little something to build around. I know that means probably going 3-13 this year but oh well, as long as Tannehill develops I could care less what the record is this year. Especially now since we are stockpiling early round draft picks.

Pats just cut WR Jabar Gaffney. He actually is a realistic option for Miami right now.

Actually, WHERE is he reporting this? I don't see it anywhere. Is this more wishful thinking about Wallace? -EK
