And don't forget, Tannehill also fumbled a snap, that was only saved by Thomas's quick hands. -EK

That snap happened when Tannehill was not looking for the snap. If you watched the game they showed a closeup of it even.

When Brandon Marshall would get the Dolphins into the red zone with regularity, all we heard was, "but he drops touchdowns!"

Reap what you sow.

If this year's team has the issues of getting to the red zone and dropping balls I will call it an issue. Since they mainly sniffed the red zone in the first game a few times (mostly during trash time) I'm not ready to call it as big an issue as even getting there right now.

Let's keep it current shall we?

The point is that if you aren't even making it to the red zone, dropped TDs are no longer a concern.

Personally, I'd rather have a dropped TD (followed by a FG) than a punt from Miami's 40.  But that's me.

This was a huge problem last year and now it is a problem this year.

What do you think they should do about it?

Good observation from years past, but too early to say it is a problem this year but you may just be ahead of your time. My theory is the days of 15 - 20 play drives are over. There is just too many things that can go wrong getting 4 yds. a play.....turnovers, penalties, the D makes a big play....   If one game epitomizes the need for big plays instead of trying to sustain long drives it was the Miami vs. Indy 3 yrs. ago.

In that game the Fins dominated everywhere except the scoreboard. The Fins had something like 40 minutes of possession compared to 20 for Indy. Didn't matter. Manning tore them apart taking only a few plays and a couple of minutes to score. That is what we miss!
