Don't know about you guys but as a Fins Fan I'm looking forward to this Season about as much as a strip club bouncer opening a limousine door for Pacman Jones

I'm excited to watch this season. Not because I expect a lot of wins, because I don't, but I'm excited to see how the rookie QB does and how the staff handles everything.

I can't tell if this means you're excited or not.

Pacman does cause trouble, but I also expect he drops a TON of cash.

Uh, so you expected a 180% turnaround with a new HC, new DC, new OLC, new QBC and a rookie QB?Huh Wow, never saw that one coming.

I agree with that last part of your post.  When Pacman rolls around, get your umbrellas ready.

No, I didn't expect a quick turnaround, but I was hoping for some progress in the right direction. I am hoping the new Head Coach, OC and DC are worth a crap, and will admit they deserve some time, but you must admit, to this point, we have seen no evidence of any football intelligence from these people whatsoever. They don't throw any screen passes to Reggie Bush. They don't throw any bubble screens. They don't throw anything deep early to keep the Defense honest. There were plays against Houston when the entire Houston D was within 5 yards of the Line. Philbin's on Hard Knocks picking up gum wrappers off the field while in the background he's got Julius Pruitt, Ankle Weights Wallace and Legedu Naanae running routes. I think Tannehill may be the real deal but the Coaches and Front Office seem to be overlooking a little thing called Gravity. Like what goes up must go down. What they have done at Wide Receiver is inexcusable. Maybe I never played Pro Football, but at least I WATCH IT! As it stands right now you could put a Dolphins cap on a chimpanzee, stick him on the sidelines, he'd have the same record as Joe Philbin. Talk to me when that statement no longer applies

And you LIKED the game they played? I was encouraged by the way they ran the ball. But did you see any sign of any underlying football intelligence in the offensive plays that were called? Do you see them throwing any screens to counter the rush? Does it look like these guys have ever seen tape of Reggie Bush in New Orleans? Did you see any evidence of a Game Plan designed to focus on something they might be able to exploit in the Houston D? There were plays when the entire Houston D was within 5 yards of the Line. And after the first couple of passes got batted up, did they really adjust? Do they even have the intellectual capacity to adjust? I am rooting for the Dolphins. But these Coaches have to show some sign of intelligence. Name one smart move this team has made this year. I think drafting Tannehill and Jonathan Martin could work out, and like what I've seen from Rishard Matthews. Liked what I saw from B.J. Cunningham, but they waived him.

Now -- name all the stupid moves...

Sooner or later we have to see some progress int he right direction. New Head Coach, new Offense and Defense... Yeah, it could take some time. But show us something that indicates some underlying intelligence.

Why do you keep bringing up this tired and pointless story? The guy picked up one piece of paper and somehow it ruined the Dolphins season? Get over it already.

I remember a certain old coach who almost got laughed out of the league by the younger, seemingly undisciplined players for his attention to details and requiring players to be on time and seated for meetings. He now has two Super Bowl rings and no one is questioning him.

I also remember another coach who payed too much attention to little things like iPods in lockers and requiring players to be on time and seated for meetings and to ride the team bus together to the airport.  That coach led the Dolphins to their worst season in franchise history, lost the locker room, and got fired after only one year.

Okay we can reference hard nose coaches that have been successful and ones that have failed.

Here is the more challenging question:  Can you name one successful head coach that allowed his players to be late for team meetings and/or didn't give a shit about disciline?

It was WEEK 1!!  You want progress out of a new coaching staff, rookie QB, new offensive scheme, new defensive scheme in 1 game? Can't happen!  You have to set the bar someplace. You can't have a knee-jerk reaction like this after 1 game and say the sky is falling. I mean you can but you can't say it and be taken seriously!
