This isn't a (I hate Tebow) thread, since I really don't. Just thought this was pretty funny. Especially coming from NFL.com.  No really, the New York Tebow are at 13 after *his* win.    Cheesy  Ha:

On a side note, we  (Miami)  bottom out the league. booo

I saw that yesterday. As a Tebow supporter I'm speechless. The only thing I can think to rationalize it I they are trying to generate more animosity towards him... If that's possible.

It's just a joke... He gets so much press that, I assume, the editor/writer is just making a joke.

"It's a joke" would be a reasonable explanation if this were Grantland.com's Power Rankings or some idiot's blog.

These are the Power Rankings of the official league website.  It is just as inappropriate as if they had the second place team listed as the Cheatriots.

I stand by

1) it was a joke
2) purpose of the joke was to generate page hits
3) it was successful at generating page hits.

Your agruement seems to go along the lines of it wasn't a funny joke and it was an inappropreate joke given the page it was on therefore it was not a joke, nor intended to be a joke.

That logic fails.  It is still a joke.  Not a good joke, but still a joke.

No, my argument is more like "NFL.com has never made any sort of similar 'joke' at any point in recorded history, and it is therefore unlikely that they quietly decided to start doing so by floating an extremely weak joke in a manner that looks exactly like a mistake."

If it's a joke, why is it "Tebow" instead of "Tebows"?  Why didn't they reference Tebow at all in the details?

Funny how people are more upset at the mention of the Tebows, yet say nothing about the Cheatriots which is an actual insult to everyone in that organization.
This Tebow love thing has gone too far.
