THE ASSCLOWN AWARD

« on: September 23, 2012, 05:09:34 pm »

I couldn't watch the second half because I was working.

I did see the pick-six.

How did he do?

It seemed the offense struggled to move the ball in the second half.

Outside of the nice play action pass to Hartline in the 4th, Tannehill was pretty lackluster.  Of course, they didn't ask him to do much at all in the game.

He did make a nice throw to Armstrong over the middle for what should have been a first down before the above mentioned pass, but Armstrong let it go right throw his arms.

Do you not undertand Tannehill calls many of the run plays as well? He does much more than throw the ball.

his numbers were shit.  15 of 36 or whatever he ended up isn't going to get it done.  The worst of it though ended up being the pick 6 because it let the Jest back in the game.  Even as poorly as he played, Miami still should have won less that mistake.

Let me say first that I wanted RT to sit for at least awhile if not a year before starting. It looked like that was going to happen until Garrard got hurt and Moore played poorly in PS.

That didn't happen and RT is doing his best. That said, I give him a D for his play yesterday. Most off his passes were inaccurate, he locked in on his WR's way too often, made poor decisions, forced the ball and his audibles were audiful. He will get better.

The good part is the rookies, coaching staff and esp. RT, can all grow up and mature together. You know how the Chinese have a year for everything (snake, rat, goat...)? This is
the year of "biting the bullet."

I was impressed with Tannehill, more than everyone else, apparently.

16-36 for 196 yards.
0 TDs/1 INT returned for a pick 6.
50.2 QB rating.
2-9 on deep balls, including 1-7 during the 4th quarter and OT.
With a chance to go up 14-0, he missed Hartline fromt he 2 yard line and they have to kick a FG. Not sure what he did that was impressive? -EK

Nope, I'm with you....I sort of feel there was a point where Sherman was trying to avoid another situation like during the Texans game...

For me it was the little things that the stats don't show...Changing the play at the line of scrimmage, recognizing the blitzes...etc.. Etc...

I even feel His INt wasn't near as bad as half the throws out of Sanchez yesterday...

Sanchez looked AWFUL.  HORRIBLE.

Tannehill played WAY better than Sanchez did.

This sentence doesn't make any kind of sense.

He kept poise and made 2 potential game-winning drives, not to mention a dropped pass in Armstrong's gut that would've essentially sealed the win, as well.  He performed admirably in crunch time.

If your argument is a stat-line, that's such a weak, weak argument, as stats are reflective of the play of about 50 other players.  Just watch the game and make an evaluation.

That's not to say that Tannehill was stellar by any means, but I thought, considering the circumstances, he played well enough to win and I was impressed by what I saw.

I DID watch the game, and I disagree with you. It may be an issue of semantics, but "he played well enough to win" is not impressive. Using your own word, "stellar" would have been impressive. After three games, Tannehill seems to have developed much less than either Weedon or Wilson, both of whom were drafted after him, and at least with Weedon, he has far less to work with. -EK

I have consistently said the guy is awful and not ready, but I don't know too many others who agreed. -EK

EK, welcome back!  We missed you after Tannehill played well and won.  It's a good thing you came back just in time for him to be a totally unsalvageable bust again!
