Played well and won or rode Bush's coat tails? Just want to make sure we're on the same page. He's not an unsalvageable bust; remember, I'm not allowed to label him that till December at the earliest. For now, all I can say is that he has the worst QB rating in the entire league among active starters, so even with him "playing well" in one game, he still looks like shit, IMO. -EK

EVERYONE SAID TANNEHILL WAS NOT READY TO PLAY!!!

Now people are bitching that he sucks.

Made your bed already, enjoy lying in it.

No one said that he sucks. Where did you read that?

The question was how he did. Some thought he did well. I am not one of them. No surprise considering everything and nothing he has to deal with. I don't think it is fair to grade on a curve. You start at QB for a NFL team, you have the same expectations from the fans as the other 31 teams.  Hey, every NFL QB has a game where he sucks, not saying RT sucked, but I gave him a D.

It's telling that this was posted in the Anti-fins section. Evil  Seeing as that's the case and I don't have anything negative to say about him, I'll just reserve my comments for the pro Tannehill thread if and when there ever is one.

Wish this board had a rep system. This is absolutely it. IMO, Tannehill is performing worse than any of the other rookies this year. Throw out RG3 and Luck because everyone will say it's an unfair comparison and look at his performance vs. Weeden and Wilson, both of whom were taken AFTER him:

RT: 615 passing yards/2 total TDs; 4 INTs/passer rating of 58.3
Weeden: 677 passing yards/3 TDs; 6 INTs/passer rating of 60.7
Wilson: 434 passing yards/4 TDs; 1 INT/passer rating of 86.2

I suppose you could argue that his numbers might be comparable to Weeden's, but Cleveland has less to work with, and Tannehill is the only QB to have a system hand-picked for him. How many other rookies get to enter the NFL with the exact same coach and system they had in college?

I agree- there is no curve. -EK

Who are they throwing to? I mean, Armstrong dropped three in the last game alone. I realize that doesn't matter to you because all you are looking for is failure for some unknown reason but people aren't recognizing him doing well for nothing.

Who are they throwing to? Cleveland's no name group includes Little and Massaquoi, and Richardson. After week 2, the Browns had 7 passes dropped, to Miami's 6. Cleveland averages about 38 passing attempts per game, to Miami's 30. That seems like a wash to me.

Seattle? Sydney Rice (big name, but only 600 total receiving yards and 4 TD's over the past 2 years, combined), Tate (worse than Rice), and Lynch. After week 2, they had only 3 drops. Seattle averages 25 passing attempts per game.

I don't see anything on either roster that would make either team stand out in terms of more talent. -EK
