In light of the issue of Belichick questioning a ref about the final play, I went looking to see if either a player or coach had ever been suspended for confronting a ref it has never happened.

But the real interesting thing was looking at the list of suspensions.

Goodel has been the commish since 2006 and is just entering his 6th season.  The NFL has been around since 1920 over 80 seasons.

In the over 70 seasons before Rodger only one coach was ever suspended by the league and that was for one game.

Since 2006, 8 coaches have been suspended -- 2 indefinitely.

In the years before RG there was a total of 10 player suspensions.

Since 2006 -- appx 50.

I think you need to find a different source as Dexter Manley stands out as a glaring omission.

No surprise. Goodell said when he came into the league that one of his primary goals was to "clean up the league." I think he has done a good job in that aspect. The "bounty" program just happened to fall on his watch.

As far as Bellichick goes, I not only don't think that he should not be suspended. I don't think he should even be fined. The ref ran away like a coward. BB deserved an explanation.

My problem with Goodell is all the rule changes that have been implemented during his tenor in the name of safety (mostly). Put them in dresses and be done with it!
