ha ha ha, I forgot about that one! Yeah, and how is Tim Tebow in EK's world a "TOP 10 NFL QB" and "A ONE IN A MILLION TALENT" yet he is backing up another loser in Mark Sanchez and has become the punchline of jokes in NFL circles, not to mention he was traded for a 4th round pick (Top 10 QB for a 4th round pick..lol). But somehow Ryan Tannehill before taking 1 NFL snap is a "bust"

The logic is so flawed, silly, and dumb it has become comical! Well, every village needs one i guess. EK is ours.

Not just backing up, but comes on the field for less than ten plays a game.

How does yahoo not count? You obviously didn't click the link- the name is right there- Steve Megargee, who is a regular writer for yahoo sports. Read the stuff you ask me for before you discount it. So Yardbarker doesn't count. Yahoo had a name, but you're too lazy to read it. What about college magazine.com or sbnation? You asked for sources and I gave them to you. Don't be pissy now that once again you're proven wrong. Wait tell us again how Marshall drops so many balls, when, in fact, the #1 (laughable) receiver they kept, Hartline, drops a higher %. FAIL. Tell us some more how David Carr never threw for more than 2500 yards in college. FAIL.

While you're discounting Billick and rattling off names you cherry pick to agree with, let's keep in mind that Polian is delusional to the point he believed Tannehill is a better QB than RG3. Not great credibility there. Warner thinks he's better than Luck. And Dilfer? Looks like he may be changing his opinion already- he said on ESPN that doesn't believe Tannehill can correct the tipped balls problem. So out of your three guys that you want to listen to, 2 believe a 1-2 QB with four times as many INTs as TDs and the worst QB rating in football is the second best QB in the draft, and the other guy is starting to sour on Tannehill after three games. Nice work supporting your POV. Don't ever become a lawyer. -EK

Speaking of delusion, I remember EK also stating that the Jet's made a "solid move" to fix their "worst offensive problem" by getting Tim Tebow.  I wonder how that's working out?

Perhaps not a great example to use, given that the Jets just beat Miami, and one of the key plays was a fake punt that said player burned Miami for a first down on. Just sayin. -EK

And if that's his extent of contributing to this team, then he's definitely not the "solution to the Jets worst offensive problem"

Agreed. But mostly because they haven't had red zone probs so far this year. Tebow was by far the best red zone QB last year. They brought him in because they struggled in the red zone which cost them games. So far this year they're 2-1 and averaging fewer red zone attempts, so it hasn't really been an issue. TBH, if they only bring Tebow in for a few plays a game and he consistently gets a first down on a scoring drive as be did against Miami, then he is worth the investment, which was minimal. -EK

You said various NFL scouts, GM's, and coaches. You provided Brian Billick and that's it. Everyone else is not a scout, GM, or coach. You bring up YARDBAKER (bleacher report 2.0) where anyone can post anything. Some guy on Yahoo nobody has heard of and is far from "respected" and stuff from SBNATION (once again another Bleacher report knockoff). By the way NONE of those guys are saying what you are saying. They all said Tannehill COULD BE A BUST. None of them said HE IS A BUST. YOU said HE IS A BUST before he even played! Which is silly. They speculated. You made a statement. Two very different things.

And WHO THE F' brought Brandon Marshall into this debate? I thought we were talking Tannehill being a bust!?!You are all over the map on this stuff. Just looking to lash out for the sake of lashing out. So angry. It's a sports message board, take a chill pill.

The extent one will go to defend Tebow is mind-boggling. It really is. How Tannehill is a bust but one won't call Tebow a bust but a "Top 10 NFL QB" yet both were taken in Rd 1 is totally mind-boggling! It really is

Recap- I say several people say he will be a bust. You disagree and challenge me to post ANY of them. I do, and you don't even read them, just dismiss, provide your own ridiculous examples. I point out that your examples are lunatics, and you get into an issue of semantics. News flash- anyone who compares Tannehill to Leaf or Russell IS calling him a bust. How is that lost on you?

Want another NFL scout? Greg Gabriel, a 28-year NFL personnel veteran who last spent eight years as the Bears’ director of college scouting, dug a little further into Tannehill’s numbers. And he didn’t like what he saw.

“You look at the arm strength and athleticism, and I think that’s what people are falling in love with,” Gabriel said Tuesday on NFL Network. “But after that, there are faults in his game. I have questions about his leadership ability, and I have questions about his ability to make big plays when they have to be made. He doesn’t always make good decisions.”

Add it all up — including the fact that Tannehill is still a raw quarterback with just 19 starts in college — and Gabriel, who also spent 16 years in the Giants’ scouting department, doesn’t believe the Dolphins should touch Tannehill with the eighth pick.

“I started looking at tape on Tannehill back in November, and at that point I thought he was a second-to-third round pick,” he said. “I don’t think you take a quarterback in the top 10 that lost (six) games they had to win.”

http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2012/04/18/former-chicago-bears-college-scouting-director-says-ryan-tannehills-on-field-performance-warrants-2nd-or-3rd-round-pick/

Taking a guy at #8 overall when he's a second or third round talent has bust written all over it. Just like EVERY post here, though, I'm sure you'll discount this somehow as well. BTW, excellent way to dodge the fact that I exposed the idiocy or changed opinions (that's right! After only three games!) of the three guys you used to feebly back your argument. -EK

Nobody is saying a GM, Scout, or Coach can't dislike Tannehill or can't hold the opinion that  he will never be any good. But they aren't calling him a bust. Calling him a bust before he has even taken a snap is the part you can't grasp. That is the silly part. It's flat out dumb honestly! Not one of these people you are mentioning(3/4 have no credibility anyway, friggin yardbaker and sbnation) have said "Ryan Tannehill is a bust." They are just saying they don't like taking him at #8 and they list reasons why.  Which is fair!!   These people aren't calling him a bust they are giving reasons why they don't like him as a player being drafted that high. That is the difference you fail to understand. They are being "reasonable" you are being "unreasonable" and acting foolish.

This Gabriel character even said he is a 2nd or 3rd round player, OK. Still a very high draft-able player. NOT A BUST! Gabriel wouldn't take him at #8, he thinks Miami is overdrafting him. Fair! Doesn't make Tannehill a BUST! Might be a "bad value pick"....not a BUST!

But it's like talking to a wall at this point. Tebow is GOD and hall of fame bound. Tannehill is the devil. We all get it at this point.

What does Tebow have to do with anything? Is that truly your last ditch effort not to look dumb? I've already stated that I overrated Tebow. So.... You're living in the past and putting words in my mouth- typical when you have no valid argument. Tell me- when Tannehill actually does get labeled "bust" and is out of the league in a few years or riding the pine like Henne, what will you say then?

And stop playing with words- the writer from Yahoo flat said he's the most likely person to be a bust. Billick compared him to the ultimate bust in Russell, so how much more clear do you need to be? Just because not everyone I listed used the words, "he is a bust," doesn't mean that's not what is implied. Comparing a player to Leaf or Russell is calling them a bust. You're a fool if you don't see that. I gave you the "proof" you wanted, so go argue with those guys. Or sit around with the other lunatics who thought Tannehill was better than Luck or RG3 (how many times you gonna dodge that point? You're "experts" were waaaaay off). Or better yet- go help Miami draft better players since you know so much about the game and personel from behind a keyboard that anyone who disagrees with you HAS to be wrong. Shoulda clued you in a bit when other new members were arguing with you to the point you accused one of them of being me. That's it mike- you're right and the whole rest of creation is wrong. Smh. -EK

Calling a player a BUST before he even plays one snap is just flat out silly and dumb! It really is. You don't like the guy, we all get it. You can hate the pick, disagree with the pick, say you think he will fail and this was a mistake. Those are logical to say and fair. To say he is a BUST before he even plays is  the epitome of dumb!

Holy smokes! Give the guy a chance already! To label a guy, especially someone on a team you support, a bust after 3 games is totally insane. Thus far, even Peyton Manning or Marino would look like a bust given the WR corp. We gave Henne 2-3 yrs. Tanny deserves the same. In the meantime, try and show some support, or at least less vocal. lol

Thank you! Someone agrees with me!

Not to mention to be  BUST you have to actually play a snap or two and PROVE TO THE WORLD you can't play and suck. To call someone a BUST before they play 1 single snap is beyond foolish.

Jesus Christ they have played 3 games each can we have more than 3 games before we decide "who is the best" out of this draft class?  How can you say anyone is way off? We are still in September of their rookie year! They have a 3 game NFL career!

Man, you really have a LOW FOOTBALL IQ. I'm sorry if that is mean or hurts your feelings but there really is no nice way to say it. Low Football IQ!

Said the guy who believed Carr and Harrington were only average college players and who insists that Marshall was Miami's biggest drop problem last year. It's not too early to say a guy is a bust if he sucks coming out to begin with. What part of that is escaping you? If a guy sucks, he sucks. If he sucks and a top ten pick is wasted on him that's even worse!

It doesn't make me a bad fan to point that out- it makes the rest of you sheep to ignore it. All preseason, all I heard was, "it's preseason, his poor play doesn't matter." Now all I'm hearing is "it's only three games in." Bullshit. Past performance is the best indicator of future performance. A player who was innacurate and stared down receivers in college, isn't going to get better in the pros when the game is faster. He has the smallest learning curve among the rookies because he already knows the offense from A & M, and yet he's doing the worst of the five first round QBs. That should tell you all you need to know. Me pointing that out isn't lack of support- it's truthfulness. -EK

Everyone associated with the staff and FO knew that RT was behind the curve because he played WR for 2 years before playing QB in college. That is a given. We also know RT does not have the best supporting cast. Minus Colombo, he is playing behind a O line that gave up 52 sacks last year and the most productive WR from last year is now a Bear.

Was he a reach at 8? Probably. Does he have a lot to learn? Most definitely.

Still, Ryan has all the tools to be a great QB. He is smart, has a strong arm, very athletic and appears dedicated to improvement.  Personally, I want to see continual improvement this year and see it continue next year with, hopefully, a better supporting cast.  To even think of using the B word at this point is just BS.

Honestly, I cannot even believe this conversation. I am done with it. That is how silly it is!
