Fasano in the last year of his deal and with Clay not playing well at all and Egnew still learning this is something to keep an eye on.

GB newspaper reporting that even though GB just gave Finley a big 2 year deal, he is due a roster bonus of $4.45 mill in mid March and the team doesn't want to pay it. They feel the 2 back-ups (Quarles and Williams) are better and cheaper. Like at WR the team is stockpiled at TE as well. If he is on the open market Miami will be players for him with the Philbin ties.

Is Cooley done....nothing long term, but what about this season?  Guessing that Winslow's release is injury related also....

Basically, feel that a 2 TE set would help Tannehill immensely...especially considering our prowess at the wideout position!

Minus a miracle turnaround this year, I think Ireland is done. I wouldn't be shocked to see Polian or a GB guy running this team next year as GM. And if so I think Miami will make big waves in free agency with around $60 mill to spend. Even if they re-sign Long and Bush and Hartline..they will still have a lot left over to sign a few big name guys. I don't know how Ireland survives a last place finish this year. I really do think his time is up

I definetely look for the team to upgrade the TE position. It is a key component of the WCO and am a little surprised they haven't already.

Not a fan of the Egnew pick. The guy just has a blank look on his face, like he has no friggin clue. If I had to guess or bet, I would say the "light will never come on."

They need to re-sign Fasano.

Not no, but hell no to Polian. Have you heard him talk and analyze? Manning covered up his incompetence for years. I hear Ozzie Newsome has groomed a guy in Pitt that is supposed to be a rising star (don't know his name).

If "JI does get the boot" and "we do go with a retread", my vote is for Charlie Wasserly. He has it all over BP.

I am higher on Polian than you. Polian has been the GM of 6 teams that made the Super Bowl. Even if you throw out the Manning ones (which I wouldn't) the other 4 speak for themselves. Plus Polian didn't miss on too many 1st round picks in his career in Indy (Edge James, Manning, Glenn, Wayne, Freeney, Clark, Addai.) Not a lot of misses for him and he got guys who contributed in big ways.

That guy Baltimore working under Ozzie (Eric DeCosta) is gonna be tough to get. He and his family have strong ties to the Maryland area and have refused to move yet for a GM jobs he has been offered. He is just waiting for Newsome to retire. He ain't going anywhere.

Whatever Miami does, they can't promote Brian Gaine. They got to go outside of house

Was it Bill Polian or his son? Maybe like Parcells, the game has passed him by. I don't know. Maybe you know best. I am at the point I hate the thought of further change. The organization needs stability.

I don't agree with everything Ireland has done, but I am hoping the team shows enough improvement this year to keep him around for 1 more shot. I think trying to build a team the Parcells way and now the Philbin way really put the GM behind the 8 ball.

Bill Polian built 4 Super Bowl teams in Buffalo. He had the expansion Panthers team in the NFC Championship game in Year 2. Then had 2 Super Bowl teams in Indy

Ahhh. It seems like a lifetime ago. The Bill Parcells of G.M.s. Polian's claim to fame will be drafting Manning.

He also built the team to be around Manning to allow Manning to win. He also built a team that had a perfect season going into Week 17 a few years back until they pulled their starters and didn't care about it.

So when Manning got hurt, they had D or running game. Got it. Thanks for clearing that up. LMAO!

So you are gonna blame him because the back up QB couldn't live up to Peyton Manning standards? What back-up QB can? Really? I mean come on. That means the 6 Super Bowl teams he built don't count? Every good move he made in building 6 Super Bowl teams go away because of 1 year? Come on. That is silly

I don't deny Bill Polian has had past success, for that matter so did Bill Parcells. But judging from the most recent years, neither Bill was successful. Did the game pass them by? You decide.

All I know is that for the last 4-5 yrs. Indy had no defense and no running game. When PM went out, it showed.

This entire conversation about a new GM in a thread titled TE position.

I don't see Ireland getting fired, to be frank, so get your weeping gloves ready and your paper bags and go protest the training facility and fly airplanes over the stadium and rent your billboards.

If his team was 14-0 with "no defense" and "no running game", then that's a pretty amazing achievement by Polian in assembling weapons for Peyton.
