OK, let's say that you have the ability to take 3 players on our roster and replace them with above average players at the same position, which 3 positions do you choose?

I like both answers above.

I definitely choose a WR and a Corner.

I think that Safety would be game-changing.  Fasano is sometimes good, sometimes bad.

I'd replace Legedu Naanee with almost anyone.  James Jones comes to mind as a realistic choice, but I'd prefer Calvin Johnson or Andre Johnson

I'd replace Nolan Carroll with Patrick Peterson, Tim Jennings, Courtland Finnegan, or Tracy Porter

I'd replace Michael Egnew with Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham, or Antonio Gates.

Brian... the idea was replacing them with "above average" players, not stars.

Corner and WR are definitely top two for me. Take our worst receiver (with Legedu gone... Rishard Matthews, maybe?) and plug in someone above average and he'd probably be a starter (after Bess and Hartline). Our worst corner... I'm guessing that would be RJ Stanford, considering I've never heard of him... replace him with above-average-guy and I don't think Marshall sees the field much.

Last one... I don't know... Someone to push Burnett maybe?

Pass rushing DE to put on the opposite side of Cameron Wake
Nickel Corner
TE- that stretches the seam.

I like the Burnett call by FYO...

WR, CB (can never have too many CB's), OLB (Pass Rusher) Misi doesn't do much for me.

I'd say wide receiver, corner, and tight end. Defensively we are closer ... I think. Offensively we have to get more production out of both the tight end and receiver positions.

It's an offensive league. You can win in this league with a sub-par defense (GB, NE, NYG, Indy) you can't win with a subpar offense.

Upgrade WR, TE, and then CB last.

Look at the passing stats each week, few teams have good corners.  Nobody covers anyone in this league. The rules aren't set up for teams to have good corners. Wasting big money on CB's is silly. Aside from Revis (and now that might be over) there are almost no CB's worth big money in this league. Some of course are better than others, but you can get by with marginal CB's and big-time pass rushers. Giants have won 2 SB's that way.

...

Giants defense was ranked at the bottom part of the league last year. 27th in total defense. 25th scoring defense. 27th in yards allowed per game.  That is a sub-par defense

Like many stats thats misleading.  Giants defense had injuries during the season, when they got healthy at the end they played very good.  Big part of the reason that made it to, and won, the Super Bowl.  I think they have one of the better defensive lines.
