If you know that you need to be awake extra early the next morning for travel,or maybe going into the hospital,etc,etc...

Do you try to go to extra bed early? Do you seem to never get any sleep that night?

I'm usually packed and ready to go the night before...So I can get as much sleep as possible, but it always fails,I can't get to sleep.I only sleep for an hour or so,and toss and turn the whole night...

Modified to add, knowing I'm not the one who overslept and a half an hour late...Priceless! Cheesy

Since I get up at 3am 5 days a week, being up is no problem. Hell, 95% of the time I wake up 10-15 minutes before my alarm goes off anyhow. Makes sleeping in on the weekend kinda hard, lol.......

Ditto for me, although I don't have to get up quite as early as you.  My alarm goes off at 5AM and I'm almost always awake 10 minutes or so before the alarm goes off.  If I have to get up earlier than that for some reason (catch a plane, etc.) then my fear of oversleeping always makes me toss and turn all night and don't get any sleep at all.    I'm so accustomed to waking up at 5:00 that I can't sleep past 6AM on most weekends.  I hate that!   LOL

I'm naturally an early riser. I don't even own a real alarm clock. So, this is not an issue for me. BUT anytime after around 9 pm I'm a zombie.

I am a late night person, and late getting up in the morning.  However, if I have to be up early the next day it seems I am up even later than normal, unable to get to sleep, then wake up earlier than I need to, before the alarm goes off.  My friends worry about me getting there on time, because they know I am not a morning person, but it seems I always have to wait around for them because they are late.

I get up early most of the time but I have noticed when there is something "New" that I have to do it is easy for me to get myself anxious about waking up  .... and then end up having a hard time either falling or staying asleep. If it's a routing thing like working out I just do it. If I am leaving on a trip and have to meet someone then it can cause me some anxiety even though normally it wouldn't be an issue.

I have a schedule that's always changing. I opened this morning, in at 6. I was in bed at 9:45 last night. If I'm up early I am in bed early

I'm an early rider, even on lazy weekends when my wife, likes to sleep in.  I've found out that I can't sleep as long as I used to as I've gotten older.

If I'm in a situation where I have to wake up early for something that would be a disaster for me to be late for (a flight for example). I set my cell phone to go off at the same time as my alarm clock.  That way I have a backup.

The days I get to sleep in til after 6am are a luxury. But people need their mail, food, paper rolls, etc.

Since I'm a night owl I can't stand forcing myself to sleep when I have to get up early. But, if I have to, I do.  My cell phone alarm is all I need, since I wake up instantly at the drop of a pin.
