The trouble is, if the Dolphins let Hartline walk, the Pats will snatch him up and he will become another Wes Welker
Or if Sparano survives this season he could bring him up to the Jets.
Look, Hartline isnt going to be able to demand big bucks on the open market. He is a nice player but not a superstar who will get superstar money by any means. I have no doubt he will be back in Miami. I have no doubt he, Long, Smith, and Bush are going anywhere and they will ALL be back as Dolphins. Miami has a ton of cap room this is not an issue. The ONLY guy who won't be back is Randy Starks. Only because its a numbers game. They can slide Oddrick back to DT (his natural position) next to Soliai start Vernon or Shelby. And then draft another DE at some point for depth.
Starks is going to demand big money but we have too much money tied up in our d-line as is and he (like Langford last year) will be forced to go elsewhere as that money MUST be spent on WR and CB
