Goodell announced Super Bowl 50 will be in Miami or Santa Clara. It is going to be the biggest event in NFL history and cities were fighting like crazy over it. South Florida has hosted so many super bowls that's why they are in the running. Super Bowl I was in California that is why they Santa Clara in the running (plus they got a new stadium). So, Goodell today said its down to Santa Clara or Miami. Miami needs to upgrade the stadium to have a chance. Whatever team doesn't get 50 will go up against Houston for Super Bowl 51.

Everyone thinks it is going to be Santa Clara because its a new stadium.  Voting is in May

Just as long as the Dolphins don't play in a dome I'm fine with any improvements or new stadium.

Canopy/Roof with a hole in the middle like the old Cowboys stadium. It is coming. Just a matter of WHEN and no longer "IF"

Add me to the everybody list. Goodell was promoting the SB in Dallas before the cement was dry. Too bad they sold more tickets than seats. You know, those huge brains in TX. lol

Super Bowl I was held in California.  Super Bowl II was in Miami.  It wouldn't surprise me if Super Bowl L was in Cali and LI in Miami.

Unless Miami does Stadium upgrades I don't think they are getting one. I think 51 will be in Houston unless the city of Miami finds money to help Ross pay for upgrades

If you wanna put a roof, do it right.  That horrendous rendering they released of a flat roof was the worst idea ever.

I can tell you from experience that playing games indoors, heat or not, is terrible.  Marlins Park flexed their "retractable-roof" muscle all year, and the Marlins played maybe 8 games outside.  The place is so much better with the roof open.  With the roof closed, it feels like baseball in a warehouse.

This is south Florida. People come here for the weather.  Don't make a mistake and cover up the stadium.  They don't even play in the summertime.  The weather in September thru February is the nicest time of year here.  Why would we want to play football inside or under any kind of roof?

I'm against it.  Completely.

I agree.  The reason Kim Jong Goodell wants a roof is because of the rain during the Colts-Bears Super Bowl.  That rain just happened to be coincidental because it rarely rains in Florida in February.  There have been rainy days during the Super Bowl before and it has not been a problem.  Why now?

Because the NFL has become increasingly sensitive to fan comfort and image and has drifted away from the roots of the game. Why don't you think there is never a SB in Chicago or G.B.?

Easy.  Because those places suck in the winter.  The fan experience (and maybe the game) would be greatly reduced.  If I get to choose between a warm weather city like San Diego/Miami or Green Bay/Chicago........it's a no brainer.

Yeah, but it looks so cool on TV. lol

Seriously, when we played sandlot as kids, it didn't get any better than playing in the rain, mud or snow. Much better than the heat.

The fans would still fill the seats. Really, if you live in G.B., it is kind of unfair not to be considered as a SB host just because of the weather.

While weather is a big issue, I am sure the NFL can give 100 reasons why Green Bay would not be considered. Off the top of my head; the age of their stadium and the lack of infrastructure to support it (transportation, restaraunts, hotel, etc.) come immediately to mind.

Plus, Green Bay fans would never be able to afford Super Bowl tickets, so their fans wouldn't even go to the game.
