I'll admit, I was a little surprised to see such an exchange, but the point was we don't need more military spending when the war has changed to needing a more agile force with a focus on less conventional things. Oh well.

Didn't Romney release his tax returns? I mean ... isn't that the whole thing where everyone is comparing his capital gain taxes to their income tax? If so then I paid significantly less.

The REQUIREMENT is very low.  1 year...something like that.  Hell, it might be none.

For the past 30 years, until McCain, every candidate released at least 5 years.  Romney's father set the trend with 12 years.

How many presidential candidates, let alone presidents, have publicly released their application to college?  Or their passport applications?

This is not a normal request and should not even be entertained.  Next you want him to release his social security number and personal credit card info?

There is no constitutional requirement for tax returns.  It is simply something that is expected as part of campaigning.
