Coaches on the hot seat

We could see as many as 8 HC coaches fired this year. Here is my thoughts.

Rex Ryan: He tops my list. The jets are a disaster and getting worse. I predict an entire rebuild starting with the GM on down.

Norv Turner: His time is up.

Jason Garrett: I have JG at 50/50, but if you can't beat the G-Men or Skins, you won't last long in Big D.

Romeo Crommel: Looks like the Chiefs will have the first pick....with a new HC.

Andy Reid: I am not entirely sold on his termination considering his past success, but Vick could be the death of him just like Sanchez is to RR. In fairness, injuries have killed the Eagles this year.

Raiders HC: Don't even know his name, but we will find out how patient Al Davis Jr. is.

Mike Mularkey / Rod Riveria: Both probably longshots, but the Panthers have regressed and the Jags are well, the Jags. Maybe Henne will save MM.

I agree with your list, with the exception of Reid. They looked better last night WITHOUT Vick and McCoy than I've seen them look all year. Not sure you can hang all of their woes on injuries. -EK

I think that Reid is gone.  Even if it's unfair, that team needs a new direction.  Reid is tied to Vick.  He's gone.

This is a really good thread Fins4ever.  Hopefully we can keep it going as the season progresses. 

I'd like to add Buffalo's Chan Gailey and Arizona's Ken Wisenhunt to the list.  Both of those teams are grossly underachieving and have no quarterback.

I recall reading that Ralph Wilson knew going in that it could take several years for Gailey to turn things around and regretfully he would not live long enough to see it. I think Chan is safe. I don't agree, but that means nothing. lol

Interesting on Wisenhunt. I live in AZ. and am flooded with Cardinal news. Always wanted the Fins to push for Aquian Boldin when they gave Fitz that big contract. Ken is well respected and usually puts up a good D.

His downfall has been on the O. IMO, his job security depends on how much influence he had on paying Kolb all those bucks. It also depends on how much he had to say about the recent drafts, which have not helped much, esp. on the O line.

Hard to say, we could see things stay the same or a change of the HC AND GM. If you think our drafts have been bad, go look at theirs. lol

Absolutley. It seems Fitzpatrick broke his throwing hand signing that big check. lol Still, unless Raph has changed his mind, he is determined to stick with Chan until his own death (rumor is Ralph is in very poor condition).

Note the common denominator?

With the exception of Newton, they are all in need of an elite QB.

OK, I suppose a case could be made for Rivers and maybe even Palmer if you really want to stretch things.

Cassell has gotten worse, Henne is a ? mark, but I would not bet on him, Romo is not consistent, Philly is playing a late pick rookie while replacing a less than elite Vick and the Cards are on their 3rd QB as the other 2 are injured due to a poor O line and Sanchez is a joke.

I like Whiz too but his time is up.....they have lost 7 straight and it is time to shitcan the entire coaching staff.....the playcalling has been atrocious and it is sad to see what could be one of the best wideouts of all time rotting away here in AZ catching a lousy 3 balls a game. I feel terrible for Larry and he is such a stand up guy it is hard to watch.

I think Andy Reid has just had a tough year with his son dying.  With so much hype for them to be a SB contender, and playing so poorly, I think he's "lost" the locker room.  Players don't seem to be giving their all.  He will be successful at a new location.

Jason is 2nd on the list. I don't see Payton leaving N.O. They love him, esp. Brees.

I will always remember Mike as being the HC who tired of Farves BS retirement routine and put in Aaron Rodgers and told Farve to hit the road. PRICELESS!
