Though I've already voted and I don't think he's worthy, I was a little concerned with Tannehill today.  He missed some open receivers, overthrowing guys.

Thigpen made a huge ghastly mistake, but it was not a game ender as there was still lots of football left.  He even had a fine return shortly thereafter.

My SOG goes to Tannehill.  When the game was literally on the line, he was incredibly inaccurate and locked on to receivers.  This is a game that could have been won despite  the myriad of mistakes made by the rest of the team IF the QB could get a ball to open receivers.  Maybe it's not fair to put that amount of pressure on a young QB, but then again, he was drafted #8 overall and is getting paid crazy money.

Can't wait until next year when they (had better) get him some receivers.

Tannehill threw a great TD pass on 4th down when the Dolphins needed it.  If it weren't for Thigpen's blunder, Tannehill wouldn't have been forced to drive down the field in desperation TD mode twice.  You can only go to the well so many times.

This is a game that could have been won if not for the myriad of mistakes...

Fixed it for you. The Dolphins have had QB's that lost the game for them for so long, now it's the QB's fault when he doesn't win it for them. It's time for Dolphans to wake up and realize that while the QB play has not been Marinoesque, he's not the reason for all the losses. Tannehill did enough to win the game, there's a lot of players that didn't. Go look at the box scores and you'll see that the San Francisco defense was credited with 5 pass defenses and that was probably being generous to Miami. The Dolphins defense was credited with zero. Tannehill was having to fit the ball into extremely small windows to get completions, San Fran receivers were open pretty much the whole game. Thigpen cost the Dolphins 7 points on 1 play. The defense cost the Dolphins a 50 yard TD on a QB keeper. The offensive line cost the Dolphins any real chance at a TD on their first drive with back to back false starts and then late in the game with repeated pressures of Tannehill on top of the great San Francisco coverage down field. Half of Tannehill's incompletions were because no one was open.

If anyone is expecting the next Marino to show up and fix all the problems himself you are kidding yourself. Marino himself wouldn't have been able to overcome all the problems this team had yesterday. They got beat by a better team, not a better QB.

Thigpen. With an HM to Miller, who- aside from one play- should be dubbed Drive Killer Lamar Miller. Bush looked great for most of the game, and needs more touches, not less. -EK

Tannehill's pass was actually over thrown.  Fassano bailed him out on this pass by making a ridiculous circus catch.  I feel like Tannehill was "high and outside" (to steal a baseball term) all afternoon.  49ers came after him all afternoon, I feel like he had nervous feet and a nervous arm (can't say I blame him).  This TD was more a product of a great catch than throw.

You can pick a Shame of the Game for really any reason.  I chose Thigpen because his mistake essentially ended the game.  Sure, it's possible that we rallied back, but this team doesn't do that.  When you need to answer a score in a close game, and instead you make a mistake that puts you down 10 points against a good team on the road, the game is essentially over.

That's one of my biggest gripes with the team this year: they are not competitive.  The score in the SF game might've looked close, but it is deception.  We were never in a position to win after that point.

Mine goes to Thigpen.....I think that killed us at a time when we were in contention. If he doesn't make that mistake we may have been able to put points on the board on that drive.....who knows.

Thigpen.  His mistake basically handed the 49ers a free touchdown and they had only managed two field goals to that point.
