It's only one game and against a formidible opponent, but he looked pretty bad at times. He better look like a stud the next 3 games or Miami is gonna be forced to overpay Long.

With $50 million in cap space, they can afford to do that. Martin isn't Long. And there are no draft prospects or free agents that are either.

He also got bailed out when Philbin came and called timeout right as he was jumping offside in a key situation.

Meh.  I thought he did okay for his first NFL start on the left side against a bad ass pass rusher.  He looked bad at times.  He looked like he could handle himself at times, but he also got a fair amount of help from TEs and RBs.  I actually thought he played better on the left for this game than he did the right a few games this season.

I have no way of knowing for sure, but I think he played against Aldon Smith about as well as I would have expected from Jake Long this year.  Good thing we get to see him for 3 more games before any decisions are made, though.

Martin looked bad because the defensive line of the 49ers is that good.  The game against Buffalo will be a much better test for him.

It's just 1 game for him at LT, on the road, vs maybe the top defense in the league. Too early to make a decision on it. Let's see how the next 3 go before we write him off as a LT.

He may not be the answer at LT, but its too early to say that now.

Another solid day by Martin!

Not a single sack given up by him.  So long, Long.

I think he's been okay from what I've seen - he seemed to do pretty well when he was switched to LT after Long went out early in the first game against NE, will be interesting to see how he goes second time around against them, especially after a good performance today.
