Dolphins aren't making enough big plays

Week after week, you see the highlight reels and the Dolphins are never on them.  This article hits it right on the head.   Where are the playmakers on this team?  Aside from Cam Wake and maybe Reggie Bush, I don't see any.

Miambien sounds about right. Instead of adding to the one all-pro playmaker they had, they traded him away for peanuts. When you can't execute with what you have left, you get what we have now. Short passes that teams tee off on. Nothing to fear past 10 yds. A pattern that has returned from the Feidler days.

Ricky Bush of today is not half the back Ricky Williams of those days were.  RW was a freaking beast, so you had to respect the short passing game, which is why Miami's offense was always around 11th overall (artififically) in the league.  And Jay had WR like Oronde Gadsden, who had the silkiest of hands in a tight spot.

I LIKE Reggie, but he isn't RW in his prime ~ which is why Miami's offense looked better in those days (and Miami would go 10-6, 11-5, 12-4).

Just no big playmakers onthe outside.  Bess and Hartline are very good slot, secondary WRs and would compliment many teams in the league if they were sued that way.  They are top WRs (Hartlien being #1) on MIA and that's not good.

Hopefully, thru the draft and FA we can snag a top playmaker.  I think that was Philben's plan all along to make due with them and bring in Ocho and the other ones that have not worked, to work with Tannehill in his rookie season.

We'll see.

So are Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings (assuming none of them are franchised or re sign with their own teams).  The Dolphins need every one of them if they plan on putting together a scary good receiving corps.

I'm wondering if Larry Fitz is going to force his way out of town after this season.  I would, if I were Larry.  He's been targeted 6 times in the last 4 games.  If Miami could get their hands on Larry Fitz, all bets would be off.

My guess is if Larry wanted to force his way out he would do everything to land on a winning team....I can't see him leaving one losing franchise for another. However if he did end up here that would be fucking awesome. I love Larry and have had the pleasure of watching him his entire NFL career here in AZ. I truly feel terrible for the hand he has been dealt with his current crappy organization.

I read somewhere that heading into yesterday, Fitz had the highest number of RZ targets with zero receptions in the NFL, due to poorly thrown balls and/or drops. That would frustrate me immensely. -EK

They won't be franchised. Jennings may be damaged goods and GB is loaded at WR. Pitt can't tag Wallace after they just paid Brown huge money at WR. They can but they will be in cap hell if they do!  Bowe would get 120% to be tagged again and KC won't do that.

Bowe is a Miami native and would love to come home. He has baggage though and we know Philbin/Irleand don't like players with baggage (Marshall/Ocho). Wallace is the guy I think will be atop Miami's wish list when all is said and done.

Receiver separation.  You need at least one deep threat.  The Dolphins don't have one.
