I thought we had him signed. I know we tagged him but I figured while we was throwing dough we threw some his way.Come on Ireland get this done!

This adds to my idea of drafting a pass rushing defensive end and moving Odrick inside.

He's not signed, he's tagged.  He wants to stay here long term.  At the end of this season he will be a FA again.  He wants to not have to worry about that.

And he's not holding out, he's just not going to "optional" practices.  We'll see if he's in camp in August before we say he's holding out.

I'd be fine with keeping him.  But I suspect Ireland isn't going to worry about that until after the draft, at the earliest.

This is one of those "I'm holding out on principle" types of holdouts. He's just letting the Dolphins know he wants a long term contract, but once mandatory practice starts, he'll be in camp.

As long as he shows up in July that's all that matters!
