They gave him away??  WTF??

Philbin didn't like him. Doesn't fit the offense. Sat out the final 3 games when the coaches thought he was healthy enough to play.

Another guy on Philibin's shit list! Bye-Bye

But nothing? Man, they must have really hated him.

But nothing? Man, they must have really hated him.

They hand picked his destination instead of cutting him and letting him sign with Pats, Jets, or Bills who all need WR's. If you are cutting him anyway might as well get anything for him!

It wasn't nothing, they traded him for almost $3 Million of cap space. That would've went to a guy who would've seen 80 snaps all year.

If there's any truth to this, man that's cold. Sure, the NFL is a business, but to basically go out of the way to screw Bess over is downright nasty.

how is it nasty? Bess just got a 3 year extension. He didn't have to agree to it. He could refuse it, Browns then don't trade for him. Miami cuts him and he is a FA.

Nothing nasty in the least

A one-way ticket to Cleveland, it may be an old cliché but it still sounds nasty! Tongue

Fins did end up getting a 5th. Schefter was WRONG!

Dolphins announce the terms of the Bess trade: MIA and CLE swap fourth rounders, MIA gets CLE's 5th rd (164th) and CLE gets MIA's 7th (217).

And the player they got in the 5th round as part of the Bess deal... RB Mike Gillislee, from UF. I heard at least one or two analysts talk about Gillislee as being one of the top-5 RBs in this draft, so maybe Miami finds a diamond with this late pick.

I think you are reading too much into it Brian. Bess has been solid but certainly far from a game changer.

Exactly. He was a good player but eriously overrated by Dolphin fans in most instances.

Philbin likes WR's that are interchangeable. Bess is just a slot guy, he is a one dimensional WR. Now he is a terrific slot guy, don't get me wrong. But he can't play the outside, can't go deep. He didn't fit Philbin's offense. Period.
