this site although dedicated to one team every years seems to have the most complete list of UDFA signings for all teams.

WR Chad Bumphis is a WR to watch. He led all SEC WR's in TD catches last year and might be a guy to keep an eye on in camp.  Reading this morning that many were surprised he wasn't drafted. Some think Miss St's lackluster QB play over the years hurt his stock (since he doesn't have elite speed or size where people would overlook the numbers) even with all the TD's this past season .

My 49ers grabbed the two UDFAs I was hoping for... They grabbed the British Olympian, Lawrence Okoye, the 6'6" 310 lb chiseled freak who is going to be a DE, and we grabbed Luke Marquardt, the extra large (6'9") OT out of Azusa Pacific.

Its not every day that a head coach laments, "Our creator created a beautiful man."  Hopefully it works out for SF. I wouldn't want to block that.

Here's what I think about Okoye...

1) You can't teach someone to be 6'6" and 310 lbs.
2) It's damned tough to teach someone who is 6'6" and 310 lbs to run the .40 in 4.75 seconds and look downright nimble doing it.
3) It's pretty much unheard of to have a 6'6" 310 lb nimble speedster who is smart enough to be invited to study law at Oxford.
4) Okoye decided to play rugby, and quickly excelled. Okoye picks up a discus for the first time, and 3 years later, he holds Britain's Olympic record. Now he wants to play in the NFL.

I have no idea whether Okoye will succeed as an NFL developmental project or not. I can tell you one thing though... If he DOES succeed, I'm glad it will be for the 49ers, instead of against them. Grin

There's an Oxford Lawyer in there...maybe he ate him.

Does England have an anti-steroid policy? It's hard to look like that without them. Just sayin'.

^^^ Yes, and so does the International Olympic Committee...the guy's been regularly tested.  In a deep search, I haven't even been able to find a single mention of any concerns about that sort of thing either.  As smart as this guy is, I really would be surprised if he was doing anything like that.

**thread jack....Read Strokes Bio on him....Read the el diablo comment...looked at the picture again...My first thought was the "Nigerian Nightmare" Christian Okoye(I know Great Britain, but it does say Okoye),I thought...Damn I'd hate to have to tackle that...About 50#'s bigger, and 5" taller than Christian was..Being so close to K.C. surrounded by Chiefs fans,he was all heard about when I was in jr high, and high school...Thankfully my coaches were 49ers fans...End thread Jack***
