Has anyone seen this movie? If you haven't you might go rent it or netflix it or something. It's particularly appropriate now because of the Zimmerman/Martin trial. It's an excellent portrayal of how 12 men can go into deliberations thinking one thing and come out the other end thinking something completely different.

Haha.. I acted in this play during high school. I was the antagonist ... Juror number 3. The only difference was we called it "Twelve Angry People" because we had women too. I made the comment during the trial this was 6 Angry Women!!

One of my favorite movies that's actually older than I am, and one of the most amazing casts of any black and white film ever. I've watched 12 Angry Men a number of times, and it's just as gripping every time.

i also liked the re-done 1997 version of 12 angry men
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118528/?ref_=sr_2

starring jack lemmon, george c scott, james gandolfini, tony danza, edward james olmos and a whole bunch of very recognizable character actors.

it's a cornucopia of 12 degrees of kevin bacon  linkage

A pile of shame is a list of things you know that you should watch (or play or do) but just haven't gotten around to it.  ...like you know it's great/important/classic/that you'd enjoy it, but you just haven't come around to getting it done.

It's commonly used with movies and video games.

I've actually never seen it.  I believe it's actually #1 on my film pile of shame.

Do something about that! I guarantee the time will not be wasted.

If you really want to have some fun, here's a little something you can try. The first time I watched this movie it was in a psychology class where we were talking about personalities and such and how they effect people's behavior and that if you pay close attention to a person's personality you can generally tell a lot about how that person will behave under certain situations. We did this in the class and it was a lot of fun and sparked a lot of conversation. Since I've pretty much given away the plot already, I don't think I'm giving too much away to tell you the next bit, but it is a spoiler, so if you don't want to know then quit reading now!!!

Spoiler alert
If you are still reading, then I will tell you that at the beginning of the deliberations 11 men are ready to declare the defendant guilty and 1 man is not. By the end of the movie he will have convinced the other 11 members of the jury that the correct verdict to return is not guilty. Now, for the something fun for you. Watch the movie up to the point where the 11 people have voted guilty and the 1 has voted not guilty. Once you find out who voted not guilty, pause the movie and try to predict the order in which the other members of the jury will change their vote and why. You have seen enough on screen time for most of them to get a pretty good idea. I'll get you started a bit. There's a very logical reason (psychology wise) why the first person changes their vote and you will actually see this quite often in group settings and it doesn't really have to do with his personality type, it's actually that he shares something in common with the person that has voted not guilty. Once you watch the movie, if you want to know what it is, I'll tell you but you have to watch the movie first.  Evil
