New England looks... well like NE!

With all the talk of NE being down this season it sure didn't look that way with Brady against the Eagles.  I know it's pre season and game 1 but Brady was on and that offense looks like they can still be explosive!  They said he did it all week in practice against the Eagles also.

We lost Hernandez and Welker and that is not good, but we still got Brady.

Every year since 2001, plenty of people have predicted the demise of NE each and every year.  And yes, they haven't the superbowl in a while, six teams have won it more recently than NE, however, 25 haven't.

Will NE win the superbowl this year?  I dunno, I hope so, but I doubt it.  But I will be shocked if they aren't playing meaningful football in Dec. 

As long as team has Brady and Belichick they are gonna be in the mix.

New England is still tops in the division until someone knocks them off their perch.  With this crazy offseason, the time is ripe for that to happen.  But until it does, they are still the kings of the AFC East.

Looks more and more like this could be the year.  B/R is reporting that Tom Brady hurt his knee in practice.  The severity is unknown at this time.

^^^ I want Brady on the field when we beat the Patriots I don't want to hear it was because he wasn't there. On another note Tebow has played two preseason games well 4 quarters of football and his stats are as bad as ever.Now I know no one will give him a chance even though he has played for three nfl teams now, but do you think he makes it through the first set of cuts?

Since Tebow has spent time helping circumcise little Filipino boys, it would make sense if he was among the first cuts.

As much as it pains me to admit my admiration for New England.....that is a franchise that knows how to operate.  Strong drafts every year, getting the most out of players, and most impressively, they find a way to be consistently excellent every year.  In a league that has become the very definition of parity, the Pats have been really good for a long time now.

I would say there are four franchises that top to bottom know how to run the operation -- Greenbay, Pittsburgh, New York (you know which one) and New England.

I'm actually going to disagree with you to some extent here Hoodie. I think mostly New England has benefitted from the Belicheck/Brady era. I'm not saying that New England is poorly run by any means, but honestly if you take away Belicheck and Brady for the last decade, would they really be what they have been? I kinda doubt it. I kinda think they would go through the same ups and downs that most franchises go through. Remember that New England wasn't known to be that great of a franchise before Belicheck and Brady showed up.

Miami was thought to be one of the best run franchises for years when Shula was making Miami look great. At one time I believed that myself, but the way it has floundered since Shula retired has made me rethink that. I think Miami benefitted a lot more from having Shula as the head coach then I ever even imagined. I suspect the same is true in New England. Once Brady retires and the "game passes by" Belicheck, I'll be shocked if New England doesn't go through another streak of ups and downs.
