Watch this movie.  It's like nothing you've ever seen.  Expect nothing and you might really enjoy yourself.

You might not like this movie.  I talk to people who both love it or hate it, but I guarantee it's not what you expect.  Don't go in thinking it's going to be a scary, horror movie.  Prepare to be amused and even laugh.  I really enjoyed this, because it's so incredibly unique and I could never guess what the hell was going on.

I can't even say that I loved the movie, but I love the experience of watching it and being completely caught off guard the entire time.

If you do watch it, try not to read up on it or watch previews.  Just check it out.

Anyone else watch this?

I waited for this movie to come out in the theaters, and watched it the weekend it opened. When the movie ended, I got another popcorn and went back to my seat to watch the next showing.  I've also watched it a few more times since it hit Netflix. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I am a true junkie for the horror and supernatural movie genres, and have been since I was a young kid.  I can say without reservation that Dave's comment "It's like nothing you've ever seen" is 100% pure truth. It is a unique movie, and brilliant in its execution. It is Joss Whedon at his finest, and the twists and unexpected "Holy shit!" moments contained in this movie are too numerous to count.

It's been a couple of months since the last time I watched it...so I'll have to line it up on my Netflix queue again soon.

I second Dave's recommendation... If you even slightly enjoy a great horror movie, you have to watch this one.

Can I be Joss Whedon's cabana boy?

Yes. I'm sure there's room for both of us.

Yes, this movie is fantastic!  It was both an homage and a send up of the entire horror genre.  Very original.

And Stroke, thanks for the Supernatural tip.  Whedon's writing compatriot, Ben Edlund, really did make that show very watchable.  Finished all 7 seasons on Netflix last month, and I'm jonesing for season 8 on Netflix now.

Damn, you blazed through the first 7 seasons even faster than I did...that show really is the TV version of crack.   T-God and I are having withdrawals waiting for season 9, and I just found out about a week ago that there is going to be a spin-off show based on one of the new characters that will be introduced this season.

Because typically people who drive RVs stay in their RVs. If you were going to a cabin, why not drive any other vehicle?

On the fly, I'd say that they drove the RV because there were 5 people, supplies for a week in the woods, plus that stoner guy brought like a half kilo of ganja...

I honestly didn't read too much into the RV thing when watching the movie...

Anyone ever watch Reaper?

I haven't seen Reaper...but just noted that it is DVD-only on Netflix, which sucks. I did read the show overview though, and it sounds pretty cool. Sort of a supernatural comedy deal?

Trying really hard not to give things away, but the characters did multiple things that didn't make sense or were otherwise out of character.  This was by design and was actually addressed by the characters in the movie at both the cabin level and the "suits" level.
