Looks real bad!

Free Agent TE's if the Fins are interested in adding a body are Todd Heap and Randy McMichael

Ouch...that does look pretty bad. Hopefully he'll be able to make a full recovery and help Miami next season.

He is on a 1 year deal. Keller and his agent turned down a multi-year deal Miami offered and took the 1 year deal. If 2 of Sims, Clay and Egnew are even decent I wouldn't expect Miami to offer Keller a contract coming off a major knee injury. Think his days as a Dolphins are over.

Well that didn't take long.  There goes that vaunted two right end set.  There's a reason why Keller never reached his full potential with the Jets. The man couldn't stay healthy

any player that took that hit would have had a torn ACL. Keller is injury prone but nobody can survive that kind of hit he took

The knee didn't just bend back, it also went to the side.   I'm willing to bet he tore more than one ligament.

Why this injury is really bad is because Charles Clay has been playing FB almost all camp with the thought that Lane and Rodriguez would be cut. Giving Miami more flexibility on their roster and on offense by using Clay at FB. Clay and Keller on the field together with the WR's were some nice weapons. Clay isn't a strong enough blocker so you can't ask him to be the starting TE since our o-line is poor and we need all the help we can get blocking.

Meaning now Egnew or Sims will be the starting TE. I would think they go with Sims because he is a better blocker. But Sims can't get separation in the passing game and is no threat there giving Miami one less option in the passing game.  Keller was a mismatch on linebackers working the middle of the field. Miami no longer has that this year.

They could try combing the waiver wire for a replacement.  Randy McMichael, Todd Heap, and Kevin Boss are out there.  They could also try to lure Chris Cooley out of retirement.

I feel so bad for Dustin Keller. Not just that he got injured, but he also signed a 1 year deal in the hopes that he would have a good year and get a long term deal with Miami. Very unlikely that happens now.

Miami is gonna miss him, I was expecting a big year from him, but I've not given up on Egnew yet. I still think he is a threat in the passing game and will get better with time. I feel like he was a fairly immature coming to Miami but has shown a lot of growth. He has some talent, so If he can continue to mature I think it's possible he fills a little of the void left by this injury. Sims also seems to have a lot of upside, so we'll see. This gives both of them a chance to step up. Hopefully one of them will grow into it as I simply don't like Clay as a TE, he's a better h-back type of player and should stay in that role.
