Dolphins in the National Media

I hate that we're 0-2, yet it seems that all anyone wants to talk about on a national level is the Giants and Redskins.  Also, Capernick, Luck, and Wilson are all over the place, but Tannehill is outplaying them all.

Are you guys seeing any national stories about us?

You heard anything about the Chiefs? They're 2-0 too. You gotta prove you matter.  You know something about those 4 QB's you named that Tannehill can't say?

They all made the playoffs last year. 2 of them won their Division. The National media likes a winner and will follow him.

It only 2-0 (wins listed first Dave) so I'm not going to expect too much as of yet. 16 weeks does not sound long but there really is a long way to go in this season.

Not to mention that the last two times the Dolphins started off at 2-0, they failed to make the playoffs.

I disagree that it's about winners.  The Jets are horrible and are always horrible.  But they are a national story every year.  It's more than just the 2-0 record.  It's that we're playing well to get there.  If Indy came back to win, don't you think that Luck would be a big topic of conversation today?  Yet, it's been 2 years and Tannehill is never mentioned.

It doesn't really bother me that much, except I'd like to hear about my team when listening to the radio or watching ESPN.  It's like the media has a love affair with players and whether they do well or not doesn't matter -- the player is the story.  Now, it's RGIII.

I don't even watch the national media much anymore. I stick with the local radio stations to get the best Fins talk/info. WQAM and WFTL whenever I can as well as SIRIUS/XM NFL Radio. ESPN is horrible, it really is. FOX Sports1 is slightly better but still sucks. The NBC and CBS sports channels are just ok.

NFL Network some of the shows are decent but some others suck.  I like it now because it is going to be fun to watch Jamie Dukes and Heath Evans have to give us some props at some point.

Miami just doesn't get any play. Mostly because they have sucked for so long and because they don't have any media darlings. They were getting a little attention today as one of the few unbeatens. And like it or not Sapp seems to have hitched his star to the fins wagon lol.

If Miami has the success that those teams did last year and Miami stays in contention for the playoffs, Miami will be getting lots of media attention. Not just Tannehill, but Wallace, Wheeler, Ellerbe, Jordan, Sturgis and Miller all make good stories. Not to mention Joe Philbin and the new uniforms. The 2-0 is a nice start but they really need to win at least 1 of the next 3 to maintain it. Do that and they will have beaten 2 potential playoffs teams in the their first 5 games and they will be a hot topic.

It doesn't really bother me but I would have to say if the Jet's were 2-0 they would be touted as Super Bowl contenders by everyone.

Sometimes it isn't all bad to fall under the radar. I'd say enjoy it because if we continue to have success it will change and everything will be scrutinized again.

Not everyone, just the Jets players and Rex.  But if the Jets were 2-0, they would have beaten last years division winner.  Part of the reason the Dolphins aren't getting much play at 2-0 is they are 2-0 against teams that nobody considers very good.  Beat Atlanta and they will get noticed.  NE isn't getting much attention either other than the continued prediction they will win the division, but aren't a serious contender for the playoffs.

I agree.  It is good to go 2-0 and better when it is on the road, but the teams we beat weren't good enough to define us by.  Atlanta has been good for long enough and has enough talent that beating them would be enough to consider a change of mindset about our team.

So if we beat the Falcons we would be 3-0 with 2 road wins and a win against a consistent winner.  That is enough to get people talking about us.

IMHO Miami is a boring team, and has been since Marino left. No real superstars, a bunch of good guys, and a WR turned QB that needs a bit more on his plate than a couple games.

The Jets a few years ago built a team with a bunch of FA that included Tomlinson, Sanchez was the "Sanchise", and fat Rex was always very vocal, not to mention they had a nice playoff run. Adding Tebow last year kept them in the news.

The Colts would have been covered/are covered because of Luck (for good reason) and he has a nice resume' of comebacks for being a young QB. So yeah, it would have happened.
