TRADE: Trent Richardson to COLTS

The Browns are clearly trying to "tank" games and go 0-16 and get that 1st overall draft pick. To trade the #3 overall pick in the draft from just 2 years ago to the Colts for a 1st rounder (probably a late first rounder) that is insane.

Nevermind. There was an incident involving two women outside of his home last December. Just read that back in May that he wasn't going to be prosecuted.

The Colts just got another weapon to add to their offensive juggernaut.  This is going to open things up even more for Andrew Luck.

I actually think that this might make sense for the Browns.  They aren't going to win anything anyway (even with Richardson), but you just can't be wasting 1st round picks on an RB.

If you are a shit team, a good RB doesn't make a lick of difference.  Good RBs only turn you from good to elite.  It's such a short life span at that position, that it doesn't make sense to pursue it unless you are close.

I don't blame Cleveland at all, and agree...you never spend a first rounder on a RB unless the RB is truly special, ala Adrian, or Marshall Faulk, that kind of talent...or if you are one very good RB away from winning a Super Bowl and don't have any other glaring needs.

The timing of the deal would make me consider that maybe the Cleveland front office believed that if other teams got a more extended look at T-Rich this season, his trade value would diminish, so they got a 1st rounder for him while they could.

Cleveland spent a 1st rounder, yes.  But they got back a first rounder, too, after using an RB for 2 years.  An RB's lifespan is sometimes only 5-6 years anyway.
