Cleveland spent a 1st rounder, yes.  But they got back a first rounder, too, after using an RB for 2 years.
"2 years" is misleading; he played 15 of 16 games last year and was traded before week 3 this year.  That's a lot closer to 1 year than it is to 2.

On a happier (at least personally) trade note... With Alex Smith and the Chiefs improving to 3-0 tonight, it means that KC only needs 5 more wins to turn our conditional second draft pick into another 2nd rounder. If I'm not mistaken (and I may be, I'm going off the top of my head here), I believe that would give the 49ers a 1st, 2x 2nd, 2x 3rd and 2x 5th rounders. More young blue chip beef!

Trent = Ronnie Brown.  I don't see a ton there, honestly.  I've never been wowed by this guy.

I feel like Trent is a guy with good talent and big play potential that was stuck on a garbage team.  I am interested to see how he does when they can't stack the line against him because Luck >>>>>>>>>>>>> Weeden and the Colts actually have a receiver or two to be afraid of.

When the Browns drafted him Jim Brown did say Trent was just an average running back.

Not sure I agree but you aren't alone in your opinion

I agree, but I believe that 7 thousands yards of offense and 40 TD's for a career ain't too shabby for a RB, especially in today's NFL. If Richardson can produce that over his career he'll have done well.

Not too shabby, but not elite by any means.  I've pulled his stat page from NFL.com and I gotta tell ya, it doesn't validate his worthiness for being the number two overall pick.

Much like when the Red Sox blew up the house last year and ate shit for it, the Browns will benefit from this in the long haul. Management didn't believe in what old management did (and why would they with their Win/Loss record), so they pulled the trigger. Trent didn't exactly light it up last year. Sure, he had 950 yards, but he only average 3.6 YPC. That is below the league average.

The only thing impressive about him is where he was drafted. Sure, he may turn out to have a great season in Indy, but that will probably have more to do with trading in Wheeden for Luck than his own skill.

Ronnie Brown introduced a new offensive strategy to the NFL.  Not many running backs have that kind of impact.

Report out 4 teams called this week the Browns about trading for Joe Thomas the LT....Browns turned down all trade offers for him. They are keeping him

Another Report out that WR Josh Gordon could be traded soon. He is 1 strike away from a 1 year suspension and the front office isn't in love with his attitude. If a team came with the right trade offer he could be shipped away before the deadline

Trent Richardson with 2 rushing yards yesterday. Had only 20 the week before. Has only had more than 60 yards once this year. He stinks. One of the worst trades ever. Give the Brownies credit they stole a first round pick!

They've stockpiled picks recently.  The trouble is, they didn't pick the right players with them

Problem is that Ahmad Bradshaw and Donald Brown have had more success running behind the exact same line.  I can't believe what a bum Richardson has become.

Well they built up a damn good defense through the draft and FA. They have nobody on offense other than Gordon and Joe Thomas.

If the season ended today, they would have their first round pick fall somewhere between 12-15. With the crop of QBs coming out in this year's class, they could actually get a player who could help.
