They are saying he hurt his shoulder in one of those sacks. Our o-line needs a lot of improvement.

He's been sacked 9 times in 2 games but its not all the o-line's fault. I read one stat (not sure if its accurate just taking it at face value when i read it) that 3 of the sacks are because running backs missed blocks and 2 or 3 are because he held the ball too long. So if those numbers are accurate the o-line has only given up 2 sacks per game. Which isn't totally awful.

But he is getting hit far too much regardless of who's fault it is!

I thought he looked hurt after a third down sack. I also agree that the line has issues (Martin), but the HB's have been missing blitz pickups also.

He apparently got dinged up on the "fumble" play that was reviewed in the 2nd half.

Wasn't that the same play?

Clabo is a bigger problem than Martin thus far.  Three of the nine sacks have been charged to him.  Shades of Marc Colombo?

I felt he held the ball too long a couple of times and should have took off and picked up whatever yds were there.  We heard at the end of last season and during off season that they were going to use his athleticism more with designed runs but haven't seen any yet!

They ran the spread option at least once during last game.  I wonder if this becomes a trend...?

Spread option... what's spread option?

Do you mean speed option, load option or read option?   To my knowledge spread option is a system not a designed run.

They ran the "read option" run play which is out of the spread option offense.

I somehow missed that play... I'll have to re-watch the game and see if I notice it.

^^ It was only one play, nothing to get excited about, and he ended up giving it to the back.
