Are a well run organization. Last year, everything went wrong for them except for locusts raining down on Fenway. However, they have an excellent farm system, deep pockets and the ability to swindle idiot GM's into taking all of their terrible contracts, which will cripple their franchise financially by 2016.

As a Yankees fan, I could never cheer for them, but they certainly deserve to be where they are right now. I wish some of their common sense would rub off on the idiots running the Yankees now.

What i hope is that the Yankees start by letting Robinson Cano go elsewhere unless he takes a reasonable contract. No more than 5 years for about 75 mil. He's not worth a penny more. They should trade Sabathia for a fungo bat. He's completely washed up unless he makes it back to the NL and gets to face those 6 man lineups. He aint winning shit in the AL East anymor

If I were to make a wish for the Yankees, it would be that they would tender humongous lifetime contracts to Alex Rodriguez and Brian Cashman...

I don't see Cano going anywhere.  I really don't.  Somehow I see Cano and Ellsbury playing in New York next year.

I don't think Cashman is perfect, but he is so hindered by the idiot sons that he can't do his job properly. Every move he didn't make he states so publicly. He didn't give out the terrible contracts to A-Rod, Jeter, Ichiro, Wells and all those awful band-aid moves. He also didn't want to give CC that damn release option which allowed him to sign a brand new albatross contract.

The main problem is that the farm system is in ruins with bad player development and head scratcher draft picks. Cano should've been traded at the deadline for a haul, but now they will probably give another 30+ year old a 9 figure contract that will take his declining play into his 40's.

^^They tried.  No one was going to give anything away for Cano.  Why would they?  The guy was two months away from cashing in on a huge pay day and only two / three teams could afford him.  The Yankees did shop him, no takers.

Maybe no takers for their asking price, but the Rangers were heavily interested. It wouldn't make sense to trade a ton for a 2 month rental, but if you are a playoff team, it may be enough to make it worth your while.

I would've taken one prospect for him. They can always sign him in the offseason if they wanted to.
