Rookie hazing? Then-starting quarterback Alex Smith not only paid for one of the 49ers' draft picks, receiver Ronald Johnson, to fly from Michigan to San Jose that summer so he could take part in player-run practices, he lent Johnson his wife's Mercedes so he could get around town.

During the lockout?  I'm sure you can't compare that special circumstance to every other day.

Rookies during the lockout may not have gotten paid yet, and thus, couldn't afford to attend PLAYER RUN PRACTICES in another state.

The 49ers have been arguably the "least hazing" team in the NFL since back when Bill Walsh took the reins. He simply refused to tolerate it.

^^ Interesting because we were just discussing a co-worker heard Bill Romanowski on the radio talking about all the hazing he "witnessed" when he was in San Francisco...

I would believe a serial rapist nazi before I ever put any credence to anything that came out of Romanowski's mouth...

You need to get better at picking your sources, Brian...seriously.

I would stop short of making it mandatory but it would build camaraderie for the high priced vets to take the rookies to dinner.

Speaking of the 49ers, hate to ruin Sunstroke's day after a loss but there is a "RUMOR" out there that Harbaugh isn't happy in the NFL and if (when) the Texas job comes open this offseason he might bolt back to college. Pull a Saban and get back in the college game where there is far less stress and he has more control over things. It's just a rumor but we will see.

^^^ If it happens, it happens, but I'm going to ignore the rumors until they prove to be more than just rumors.

...and it takes more than a random rumor to ruin my day.

lol, I know. And who knows if he wants to leave California. His wife called that shot last time. But there talk is out there that he is unhappy in the NFL. He is very "Saban-like" and doesn't like that he can't have total control of everything. We will see.
